[LG All-in-One Tower] Can there be worms(grain mites)?

Repair

Grain mites are caused by larvae or adult mites entered during cleaning, so they are commonly found in other vacuum cleaners as well.

Causes and Symptoms

Grain mites do not live in a vacuum. They enter the All-in-One Tower dust bag from grains, plants, or bedding.
If you don't empty the dust bag for a long time, they will naturally come out of the vacuum cleaner.
Grain mites are common in the summer when temperatures and humidity are high.

Try this

1. To prevent grain mites from spreading, leave the All-in-One Tower in the balcony or at the front door during cleaning.

2. Before collecting grain mites in the dust bag from the inside of the All-in-One Tower, start "Empty Dust" three times and remove the dust bin and discard it.

3. After separating the motor safety filter and the exhaust filter, wash and dry them for more than a day.

How to clean the motor safety filter and the exhaust filter

① Open both doors and the dust bag door.
There are two types of filters: Motor safety filter and exhaust filter.

② Grab the bottom of the unit and take out the motor safety filter.

③ To remove the exhaust filter at the bottom of the unit, hold the handle and pull it out.

④ Shake the dust off the filter and wash it with water about once every three months if the dust emptying performance has weakened.

⑤ If you've cleaned it with water, let it dry completely in a shaded place before using it.

Open both doors and then open the filter compartment door.
        1. The motor protection filter is located at the top, and the exhaust filter is located at the bottom.
        2. Pull out the motor protection filter at the top.
        3. Remove the exhaust filter at the bottom.
        4. Wash the separated filter with water (wash at least once every three months)
5.Dry the washed filter in the shade for more than 24 hours

4. Clean the exterior and interior of the All-in-One Tower with a wet tissue at least once a day for 4 days to help spread and kill grain mites.
If you still see them after 4 days, repeat the cleaning process with a wet tissue for 2 days.

5. If there are no grain mites, then replace the dust bag with a new one and install the motor safety filter and exhaust filter after drying them.

How to replace the dust bag

① Open both doors and the dust bag door.

② Press the dust bin cover release button to open the dust bin cover and empty the dust bin.
When the dust bag is pulled down, the dust bag opening is closed so dust won't be spilled out.

③ Reinsert a new dust bag and push it upward until you hear a clicking sound.

1. Open both doors and then open the filter compartment door.
2-1. Press the lever at the top of the dust bag.
2-2. Hold the dust bag handle and remove it.
        3. Attach the new dust bag until it clicks into place.

Grain mites are caused by larvae or adult mites entered during cleaning, so they are commonly found in other vacuum cleaners as well.
Grain mites are not commonly found in general vacuum cleaners because you tend to empty the dust bin regularly.
However, for the All-in-One Tower, if you don't empty the dust bin regularly (recommended to empty it every 4 months), you may find grain mites in the dust bin.
To prevent them, you are recommended to replace the dust bag every 1 to 2 months.
If the problem persists, please have it checked by a service technician.
