You turned on the power and pressed the [heating] button, but there is no warm wind? Lukewarm wind comes out but that is not just hot enough?
Causes and Symptoms
- It is heating the frozen pipe of the outdoor unit.
- There is dust in the ultra fine filter.
- Hot wind from the air conditioner does not reach everywhere indoor.
When using the heating function, it requires some time interval until the cold air in the air conditioner is heated sufficiently.
If you turn on the heater of your car in the winter, the engine is pre heated first before hot wind comes out.
Moreover, hot air goes up because it is light, and cold air goes down because it is heavy, thus on a very cold day, only the area near the stand or wall mounted type air conditioner might be warm, but the overall indoor environment might be cold.
Try this
While using heating, is the [Preheating] or [Defrosting] lamp on the remote controller lit frequently on the remote controller or stand display?
→ Set the target temperature to 30℃ (86°F).
When you start heating for the first time, you have to go through a preparation process to make the inside of the air conditioner warm.
Especially, on a snowy or wet day, there will be lots of frosts in the outdoor unit, thus the [Defrost] lamp will be on frequently.
As the defrosting function starts, the air conditioner stops operating, thus it can affect the cooling abilities.
In this case, set the target temperature to 30℃
(86°F) and operate it until you get hot air from it.
When the temperature of the outdoor unit is below -15℃(5°F), warmer wind than usual can last even longer.
Even when using the heating function, depending on the temperature or humidity of the outdoor unit room, the defrosting function can be activated.
Has it been more than a month since the last cleaning?
→ Clean the ultra fine filter.
If there are dusts in the filter, it cannot suck in or discharge the air properly, thus degrading the heating performance.
In addition, due to loud noises or excessive operation of the air conditioner, more electricity will be used.
If it’s been more than a month since you cleaned the ultra-fine filter, turn off the air conditioner and clean the filter.
Depending on the product, the location and removal method of the ultra fine filer may vary.
By referring to the user manual, separate the ultra fine filter and use a vacuum cleaner to suck in dusts or use a soft brush to wipe off dusts.
It is warm enough near the air conditioner but does the entire room feel rather little too cold?
→ Adjust the angle of the wind direction panel of the air conditioner to as low as possible so that the wind direction is faced downward.
Warm air moves from the bottom to the top.
Therefore, if the angle of the wind direction panel is adjusted downward, warm wind can more easily spread throughout the entire room.
