[LG air conditioner heating] Defrosting is displayed and the outdoor unit does not operate. Suddenly heating stops

Troubleshooting

Defrosting is a function to thaw frost in the outdoor unit that occurs during heating.
At this time, defrosting is switched to cooling for a while to melt the ice stuck in the outdoor unit, and the fan stops to prevent cold air from entering indoors.
It is a natural operation that occurs during winter, and you can see the message [defrosting] on the display window of the air conditioner during the defrosting operation.

During the defrosting operation, frost on the outdoor unit may melt so that water may drip to the floor and white steam may be visible.
Also, as the frost melts rapidly, the sound of breaking ice may be heard temporarily.

If the temperature drops drastically in winter, it may take longer to heat the pipes so that the room temperature may not rise.
In snowy or humid weather, a lot of frost occurs on the outdoor unit, so, the defrosting function operates frequently, reducing overall heating capacity.

※ The defrosting and preheating display may differ by model.

※ If the defrosting or preheating operation continues for several hours, even if the target temperature is raised to 30℃(64.4℉), the air conditioner should be checked by a service technician.
