Bluetooth speaker not discovered [projector]

In order to connect a Bluetooth speaker/headset to your LG smart television, you need to turn on the peripheral’s Bluetooth function and search for devices.

Cause and Symptoms

  • Bluetooth speaker (headset/earbuds) does not produce any sound.

Try this

Pairing your Bluetooth speaker

  1. Press the Settings button on the remote control and select Wireless → Bluetooth to turn it on.
  2. Set the Bluetooth audio device you want to connect to the pairing mode. Please refer to the manual of the Bluetooth audio device for instructions on how to set it to the pairing mode.
  3. Select the Search Devices option to search for the device you want to connect to. The search takes approximately 15 seconds, and once the device you want to connect to is displayed in the list, you can select Stop Search to stop the search. After the search is complete, select the device you want to connect to, and the Bluetooth audio device will be connected and automatically registered in the list of registered devices.

Connecting Other Devices using Home Dashboard

You can select or control a device (mobile, external peripheral device, etc.) connected to the projector.

  • Press the HOME button on the remote controller and select [Home Dashboard].
  • You can also press input button and hold the button down on the remote controller.

  1. You can check and select the external device connected through the external input port or network.
  2. Use AirPlay/HomeKit to control your projector and watch content from your iPad or Mac on the projector screen.
    • The availability of and access to Content and Services in LGE Devices are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
  3. You can play sound from a smart device connected via Bluetooth. For detailed instructions, refer to "Playing Sound from a Smart Device through the projector’s Speakers".
  4. Earbud/headset output can only be selected if you have connected a USB storage device or a media server.
  5. The currently selected output speaker is displayed, and you can navigate to the output speaker settings screen.
  6. You can view the list of connected Bluetooth devices and select one.
  7. [Edit]: You can edit the name of the device connected to [Edit Inputs] or configure the related settings.
    [Universal Control Settings]: Move to the [Universal Control Settings] app.
  8. Exit the [Home Dashboard].
    • The configurable items differ depending upon model.

Playing Sound from a Smart Device through the projector’s Speakers

Connect a smart device to the projector via Bluetooth to play sound from the smart device through the projector’s speakers.

  1. Press the Home Button button on the remote control and select [Home Dashboard].
  2. In the [MOBILE] area, run the [Bluetooth Audio Playback].
  3. Turn the smart device’s Bluetooth on, then select the projector from the list of devices.
  4. The projector will be connected to the smart device.

Using Multiple Speakers (Bluetooth Device + Projector Speaker)

Setting button → [Sound] → [Sound Out] → [Use Multiple Speakers]

Both the internal speaker of the projector and the Bluetooth speaker can be used to output the sound at the same time or a surround sound can be used. Up to two Bluetooth devices of the same model can be connected.

  1. Select to connect a Bluetooth speaker.
  2. Run [Audio Delay] to synchronize the projector's internal speaker with the Bluetooth speaker. You can adjust the sync automatically or manually.
  • The image and voice may be out of sync while using the Screen Share mode. We recommend using [Use Projector Speaker] in [Sound Out].
  • Depending on the type of your Bluetooth device, two devices may not be connected at the same time.
  • Depending on the type of the Bluetooth device, the device may not connect correctly or an abnormal behavior may occur such as unsynchronized video and audio.
  • Some models may not be supported.
