Is condensation forming on the door gasket on the door or home bar of the refrigerator?
Water vapor is floating in the air during the summer when the indoor humidity is high.
When the refrigerator door is open and closed, the moisture meets the cold air and condenses on the door gasket.
It is the same phenomenon as condensation forming on a cold water bottle just taken out of a refrigerator.
This is a normal phenomenon occurring in summer when the indoor humidity is high. Wipe off the condensation from the refrigerator surface of the door gasket with a dry towel.
Causes and Symptoms
- The indoor humidity is high because it is the rainy season.
- The refrigerator door was not closed properly.
- The door gasket has a foreign substance on it so it won't attach to the refrigerator body properly.
Try this
Is your refrigerator located where the humidity is high or near a window?
➔ It is recommended that you install a refrigerator in a less humid and well-ventilated location where there is a 5℃ to 43℃ ambient temperature.
If your refrigerator is installed next to a balcony or window where outside humid air can easily get in, condensation may form on the door gasket.
If this happens, wipe off the condensation with a dry towel.
Is cold air escaping because the refrigerator door is not closing properly?
➔ Check the following details, and close the refrigerator door completely.
If the refrigerator door is not closed tightly, cold air escapes and meets humid air, generating condensation on the door gasket.
If a drawer or shelf has not been assembled back into its correct place after refrigerator cleaning, pull it out and insert it again correctly.
If you have placed too much food in the compartment, take some of the food out.
If there is a cover on top of the refrigerator or a plastic bag in the compartment in the door of the refrigerator, remove it so it is not caught in the refrigerator door.
If the door gasket becomes contaminated and sticky, clean it frequently.
Is the door gasket stained with a foreign object so that it doesn't adhere well to the refrigerator door and the cold air escapes?
➔ Clean the door gasket with detergent.
If the door gasket has a hardened foreign object stuck to it, the door gasket may fall out of its groove and a gap may be formed when opening and closing the door.
Wipe the door gasket with a hot steamed towel and clean it using a toothbrush or sponge with toothpaste.
As the moisture remaining after cleaning may cause condensation to form again, wipe off any remaining moisture with a dry towel one more time.
