[LG top load washing machine steaming] I'm curious about the steam function.

Troubleshooting

The steam function is an option that uses steam to soak a heavy-duty load for a cleaner wash of the laundry.
Since a small amount of water is supplied and steam is produced by heating the water at the bottom of the tub, total washing time is increased by the heating time.
After heating, water is supplied up to the initially set water level and washing will proceed.
It is more effective if you use it with Hygiene 40℃ and Sterilize 60℃ cycles.

Wait! Find out more.
Do not use it on temperature-sensitive laundry such as wool, silk, and leather as that may damage the clothing.
The heating time will be longer if only the cold water hose is connected, so it is recommended to connect both the cold and hot water hoses to use it.

Try this

Select steam

Press on the Steam option to select it.
When Steam is selected the button will light up.
You can choose from Standard, Rinse, or Hygiene 40℃ cycle. (It is automatically selected with the Sterilize 60℃ cycle.)

Is steam not visible?
If you select the Steam option, it supplies a small amount of water that is heated by the heater in the bottom of the washer, which then generates steam.
Steam may not be visible because it is being generated at the bottom with the lid closed.
※ Washer tub does not rotate during heating.
This is a normal operation for generating steam so do not be alarmed.
After steam is generated, additional water is supplied and washed (First water supply : Heating a small amount of water > generates steam, Second water supply : Washing begins after supplying the specified level of water)
