Fabric softeners and liquid detergents (applicable to the models with a liquid detergent cup only) are dispensed through a process called siphonage.
Siphonage is similar to the flushing of the toilet. The liquid detergent/softener that fills the detergent dispenser up to the Max line mixes with the water in the detergent dispenser when water is supplied, and when it reaches a set level, siphonage operates and the mix is flushed out into the laundry.
Note
If fabric softeners/detergents are filled over the max line, they will be dispensed immediately. Make sure they don’t exceed the max line.
