Since the Styler uses steam, moisture may remain inside or accumulate in the tray after operation.
Most of it dries out during the drying process, but a lot of moisture could remain for the following cases.
Causes and Symptoms
- Moisture is left inside the machine after running a cycle using steam.
Try this
If the door is opened while the machine is operating
If you open the door while steam is being created, the cold outside air and the hot moist steam inside the product may cause condensation, leaving dampness on the floor.
Do not open the machine door during operation.
If a lot of dust has accumulated on the dust filter
Dust buildup could prevent smooth air movement during drying, which would prevent any moisture within from drying.
Periodically, clean the dust from the filter before or after operating the machine.
If clothing is caught in the door and as a result the door does not seal
When high-temperature wet steam from the inside and cold air from the outside come into contact in areas from which dry air leaks, condensation occurs. This can lead to moisture collecting in the bottom of the machine.
Operate the machine after checking that no clothes are caught in the door.
If the inside of the product is filled with thick clothing
Having several thick puffer jackets in the machine can obstruct air flow inside, which can lead to poor drying performance and dampness in the product. So it is advisable to fill only half of the machine’s volume with clothing.
If oily substances are smeared inside the product
If you touch the inside of the product and leave oil from your skin, or if oil from clothing or cosmetics gets on the inside while the product is operating, steam/condensation will gather in the smeared area and moisture may remain after operating the machine.
In such a case, it is not a product defect, so clean the inside using the cleaning glove provided as a product accessory.
If the outside temperature is low (i.e., in winter)
Due to temperature differences between the interior and exterior of the product, steam may condense during the winter or when the surrounding temperature is low, and moisture may remain inside the machine.
If a small amount of unevaporated water flows into the tray during machine operation
The Styler uses steam, so most of the water is evaporated. However, moisture between the door gasket of some doors does not because the dry airflow may not reach this particular spot, so, water may flow down into the bottom tray.
Rest assured as it is not a product defect.
If there is water in the tray, remove the tray, empty the water, and refit the tray.
※ However, if the door gasket is damaged or deformed, a lot of water may flow into the tray as a result of the defective part. Contact an LG Electronics customer service center and LG will take the necessary action.
