Causes and Symptoms
- When the dryer starts or reverses rotation while running, friction may make a sound such as a ‘squeak’ or ‘squeal’.
The drum and the motor of the dryer are connected by a belt. When the drum starts rotation or reverses its rotation, belt friction may cause a temporary squeaking sound.
This is a normal sound that may occur before operation of the drum and the belt becomes stabilized.
