[LG Air Purifier] The dust level and air quality indicator light of two products are different

Repair

Are the dust level and overall cleanliness indicator color of two products displayed differently?

Learn more about it.

The dust levels and overall cleanliness of two different products (compared to LG products or compared to other manufacturer’s products) can show different results, depending on various cases and environments.

When some LG products show different results

Even if they are all LG Electronics’ air purifier products, dust levels and overall cleanliness may be different.
The overall cleanliness is indicated by combining the measured dust concentration with the odor concentration.
Even in the same space, the airflow and dust dispersion vary depending on where the product is located, so the dust level and odor concentration measured by the product may be different.

How to clean the dust sensor
Dust sensors are sophisticated and sensitive parts that require regular cleaning. (Once every two months)
First, turn off the product and disconnect the power cord from the outlet.
Open the dust sensor cover, wipe the lens with a slightly wet cotton swab, and wipe it again with a dry cotton swab to remove moisture.

When it is different from products made by other manufacturers

The operation principle of the dust sensor and measuring method of dust concentration applied to each product are different.
Air purifiers from different manufacturers display dust levels and overall cleanliness colors according to the characteristics of each product. Therefore, there is a difference even if they are in the same space.

When it is different from the figures announced by the Korea Meteorological Administration

The dust concentration figure and overall cleanliness level displayed on the air purifier may be different from those announced by the Ministry of Environment (Air Korea).
The Ministry of Environment's fine dust figures measure dust concentration using the gravimetric method and beta-ray method, but LG’s fine dust indication may be different from the actual dust concentration since the amount of dust is measured and converted into mass concentration.
The figures may vary depending on where they are measured.
