You can charge your laptop or external devices with USB-C™. It automatically runs depending on the connected device.
➔ Charging a laptop with USB-C™ (Thunderbolt™)
- To charge a laptop, the external device (USB PD charger, laptop, etc.) should support Power Delivery 10W (5 V / 2 A) or higher.
- When charging an external device with USB-C™, it supports 10 W (5 V / 2 A) and 15 W (5 V / 3 A).
- USB PD (Power Delivery) supports 15 W (5 V / 3 A). And standard USB supports 10 W (5 V / 2 A).
- You cannot charge the USB PD battery using a USB-C™ port.
- Idle charging mode is supported with USB-C™ ports only, and standard USB ports cannot be used.
Causes and Symptoms
- If you use a lower amperage adapter, then it might take longer to charge the laptop.
- If your laptop consumes more power than an external device's power supply, the battery level may be reduced.

The connected device setting is set to Auto. (The laptop or connected device can be charged. The laptop can't be charged via mobile phone.)

The laptop is transferring power to the connected device’s battery.
If you connect a smartphone, you must select the “Mobile Phone Charging” menu on the smartphone screen to charge the smartphone battery.
