How to Install and Update Drivers on Your LG Laptop

Use LG Update Installer to find and install the latest drivers and software for your model in a single step.
If your laptop can't connect to the internet, use another computer to download the network drivers and LG Update Installer from the LG website.
Save the files to a USB drive to install them on your laptop.
To keep your laptop running smoothly, you can download the latest updates from the Microsoft Store or the LG website at any time.

How to Install the LG Update App for Your Laptop

Case 1. Download from the Microsoft Store

  • If your laptop is connected to the internet, you can easily download the app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Select the Microsoft Store icon on the Windows taskbar.
  • Search for LG Update Installer.
  • Select Get or Install.
  • When the installation is complete, select Open.
  • Select OK. The Installer will automatically find and set up the correct LG Update app for your exact model.

Case 2. Download from the LG Website

  • If you prefer, you can download the app directly from the LG website.
  • Go to the LG website (www.lg.com) and select Support or Service.
  • Navigate to Manuals & Software, Manuals & Firmware, or Software & Drivers depending on your region.
  • Enter your laptop's model number (e.g., 15Z90U) and select it from the results.
  • Download and extract the LG Update file.
  • Open the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • The installer will automatically set up the correct LG Update app for your exact model.

Case 3. Install Using a USB Drive (No Internet)

  • If your laptop cannot connect to the internet, use another computer to download the necessary files.
  • On a computer with internet access, go to the LG Support website and search for your laptop's model number.
  • Download the network driver and LG Update Installer.
  • Copy the files to a USB drive and connect it to your laptop.
  • Install the network driver first to get online.
  • Once connected, open LG Update to install all remaining drivers, including graphics and sound.

Case 4. Updating Your Drivers

  • The LG Update app available for your laptop depends on the model, release year, and whether Windows was included with the product.
  • LG Update & Renew: Open LG Update & Renew. Select Update. Select specific drivers, or choose Select All.
  • Select Install.
  • LG Update & Recovery or LG Update: Open LG Update & Recovery or LG Update. Select Update, and then open the Update List. Select specific drivers, or choose Select All. Select Install.
  • LG Update Center: Open LG Update Center. Select All List, and then open Update Needed. Select specific drivers, or choose Select All. Select Install.
  • LG DnA Center Plus: Open LG DnA Center Plus. Select Install.
  • Laptops Released Before 2017: For laptops released before 2017, visit the LG Support website to download your drivers and follow the provided installation guide.

Case 5. Perform a Clean Reinstall for Faulty Drivers

  • Use this method if a device has an error or does not work after you update its driver.
  • Right-click the Start button on the taskbar, and then select Device Manager.
  • Locate the device that is not working. It may have a yellow warning icon.
  • Right-click the device, and then select Uninstall device.
  • If you see a checkbox that says Attempt to remove the driver for this device (or Delete the driver software for this device), select the checkbox.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • Restart your laptop.
  • Open your compatible LG Update app to reinstall the missing driver.
