When you phone cannot be found by other phones, you can do the following:
-
Make sure Bluetooth is on. (Settings > Bluetooth (in ‘Networks’ tab if tab view in active) > Set the toggle switch to ON
Note the name of your phone (in this example: My LG G2) -
Make sure you are not too far away from the other device. Most Bluetooth devices have a range of max. 10 meters.
-
Bluetooth devices have a discoverability setting, allowing your phone to be found or to stay hidden.
Check if the phone visibility is on (marked), via Settings > Bluetooth (in ‘Networks’ tab if tab view in active) > mark the checkbox under Make phone visible
Note: typically, the phone visibility timer is set to 2 minutes. After that time, it becomes invisible again. On most devices you can change the visibility timeout -
Let the other phone search for Bluetooth devices again. Your phone should now become visible for the other phone.
Note: if the other phone cannot find any Bluetooth devices, the problem may be linked with that device.
