Connecting a Gaming System
High Definition Connection
If the game system to be connected supports high definition, HDMI or component
cables are needed.
For all other devices, component will send 720p signals to the television
if the external device supports 720p.
Each external device that supports 1080p will send 1080p signal with HDMI.
Use HDMI cable to connect two devices by inserting the HDMI Out on the
game system and HDMI IN on the television.
Component cable can be used to connect two devices by inserting the
component video / audio cables (red, blue, green, red, white)
into the Component Out on the game system and then to Component In on the television.
Standard Definition Connection
If the game system to be connected does not support high definition,
composite (AV) or coaxial (coax, antenna) cables
are needed for the standard definition connection.
Most, if not all devices whether standard definition or high definition,
come with composite or coaxial connections.
AV cables can be used to connect two devices by inserting the AV cable
into the AV Out (red, white, yellow)
on the external device and then to AV In on the television.
Use a coax cable to connect two devices by inserting the coax cable into
the Antenna out (screws into the unit) on the external device and
then to Antenna In on the television.
