Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth it! Sleek design, easy set-up, cools down average size room fairly quickly, just a bit noisy (like white noise turned up) but still worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for small rooms Using in a bedroom (11' x 11') and works well. It is small enough that it doesn't intrude on the available space and allows movement around the room without causing interruption to traffic flow.

Air conditioner is making a random squeaking/squealing sound every five minutes or so. Any suggestions?

Asked by: PJ_San Diego
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Check to make sure all air passages are clear. A squeak would indicate either something stuck in the unit, or moving parts rubbing against each other. If no such parts are readily accessible, then the unit may require service for an inspection. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

AC suddenly starts push out hot air. Ive tried draining the water but there's never any. Unpluging for a couple of days and no change. Is this AC a goner or is there hope?

Asked by: DeeeDeee1
There are a few reasons why your LG 7,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP0711WNR is blowing hot air. The most obvious would be to check the settings. Turn the Air Conditioner to its' coldest setting and turn the fan to its' highest speed and you should feel cold air blowing through in a few minutes. If you still are not getting any cold air, check the filter to make sure that it is not clogged or dirty. Although a dirty air filter may not be the primary cause of hot air blowout, it might be significantly responsible for a major compromise in cooling. Dust that emanates from a dirty or clogged air filter can clog the condenser coils. This unit should be serviced every summer to have the condenser, compressor and evaporator coils cleaned. If you have never had this done, it may be that the coils are dirty. Often, dirt and debris accumulate on the coils and that can seriously affect the cooling performance of the air conditioner. The other cause for a lack of cooling may be due to a leakage of the refrigerant from the compressor which would stop the air conditioner from cooling air but that would have to be addressed by a qualified professional. If it is just that the refrigerant needs to be replenished, that should be a fairly inexpensive procedure...^IFV

How do you vent the heat that the machine produces?

I assume the machine must produce heat
Asked by: rousseaurou
Hello rousseaurou. Your assumption is correct in that the LG 7,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP0711WNR does produce some heat, all air conditioners, even refrigerators all produce heat. The way that the portable Air Conditioner works is that is sucks in the warm air and passes it over coils for cooling then passes that cool air out into the room while any heat generated is vented out through the exhaust vent to the outside...^IFV

i have never had to drain my unit. is that normal?

i have had my unit for a year and have never had to grain it. i only use ac and fan. is there something wrong?
Asked by: paulan
Hello Paulan. Your inquiry is appreciated. There is nothing wrong with your LG 7,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP0711WNR. The unit has a self-evaporative system in which the condensing water is recycled to cool the condenser. This not only improves cooling efficiency, but also saves energy for you. If the inside water is full , the display panel will display “FL”, and the compressor will stop running. At that point, you would have to move the machine to a place where you can drain the water, unplug the water-draining hole. After drainage, you can then power it on and the machine will run again. The fact that you haven't had to do this just means that the machine hasn't been used in high humidity or just that the weather in your area just hasn't been that humid where you get much condensation collecting in the internal water collection tank and what does collect is taken care of by the self-evaporative system...^IFV

Clicking then shutting off, a lot.

My roommate thinks it's my fault the fuse kees blowing. I've had this unit for about 2 to3 years and this never ocured before. Could it be my unit needs a good rofessional cleaning inside. And about how much does that cost. Sorry, some of the keys on this comuter don't work. Thanks for any advice you could give me. I bought it at a Home De ot store, should I take it back there to have it cleaned.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this portable air conditioner. It is difficult to determine the cause of tripped breaker when attempting to use an air conditioner. It is recommended to check the number of items on the electrical circuit. Too much draw on the circuit could cause the throwing of the breaker when the compressor attempts to use additional amperage, as it does when it starts its compressor. If this is not the situation, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.
