Key Features

  • Pure Android Experience: Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • The Best All-Around Camera Ever Put Into a Nexus
  • Fingerprint Sensor
  • New USB Type-C Charger

Capturing the soul of the Nexus family, the 5X offers top-line performance in a compact, lightweight device that's ready to go anywhere, anytime. Beneath the 5.2-inch display is a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor for world-class speed at an affordable price.

The best all-around camera we've ever put into a Nexus shines in low-light conditions. Its larger 1.55μm pixels capture more light even in the dimmest conditions to produce stunning details and sharp images.

Google Photos is a new way to store, search, and share all your photos and videos. Store an unlimited amount of photos and videos at high quality for free, and access them anywhere.

Your Nexus is quicker and more secure with a fingerprint sensor. Placed on the back of your device to complement the way you naturally hold it, Nexus Imprint will turn on your screen with one touch, unlock your apps quickly and easily, and let you breeze through checkout lines.

The USB Type-C charger is reversible, which means no more guessing which way is up. And it's fast—get almost four hours of use after only ten minutes of charging.

Built to get the best out of the world's most popular OS, Nexus is the ultimate Android experience. You're always among the first to receive software and security updates. And you'll have the freshest, fastest version—Android 6.0 Marshmallow—working for you right out of the box.

Nexus comes with the best Google apps pre-installed, so it's ready to use right out of the box. Search, Maps, Chrome, YouTube, Gmail, Drive, and so much more-ready for you to enjoy on your phone. And with Google Play Store you can access your favorite digital entertainment. Choose from millions of apps, books, songs, movies, and games.

What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed one month after 1 year warranty ended Dreaded boot loop issue started at 13 months, fixed with a factory reset, now 5 months later, its totally dead. Won't turn on. Google refuses to help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY The phone breaks after about a year when it updates. The irony is that I bought this phone because it was Google-endorsed and I thought it would update BETTER than other android phones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fine if it works. That's a big if Got one, it lasted a month. Got the replacement, it lasted 6 weeks. Got a 3rd one, it lasted 14 months. I'm guessing I won't get a warranty replacement on #3, but I'm talking w/the store now

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shoddy phone (with fancy bells and whistles) All I want is a phone that WORKS. My needs are relatively simple: I want to reliably send/receive texts, calls, emails; take photos/videos on a regular, though not daily, basis; use mapping apps for directions; check Facebook and some other apps. My main concern is reliable and consistent usage for a non-techie user. And this phone has not lived up to this standard. This was a Christmas gift from my husband, to replace an aging, but still functional previous Android phone. From almost the beginning, I have been unable to use video features. My camera will not take videos; it looks like it's recording, but then no video is ever saved/registered (photos are great, though). For some reason, the Youtube app has never functioned properly and we had to do a workaround, putting a link to Youtube on the Chrome browser directly onto my home screen. Videos in Facebook also do not play (or, more accurately, don't play 90% of the time; occasionally they work and there's no discernible rhyme or reason when). Then, Sunday, less than 15 months after I received the phone, it froze, restarted, and has been on a mad merry-go-round of boot-looping ever since. Thank the stars that my photos and contacts are backed up into my Google account, otherwise this would be catastrophic. As it is, I have no phone, I have lost my text message history and now I'm left with an expensive, just-out-of-warranty, doorstop. I really long for my old, clamshell phone that lasted me 9 years (including flying off of my car roof and being re-sent to me by a kind stranger). It didn't do much, but it actually worked for the tasks it could do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice features and performance, until device failed I upgraded from an LG Nexus 4 that died 8 months out of warranty. The 5X has excellent features, processing speed, and I was happy with it until it stopped booting- 3 months after the warranty expired. I will never purchase another LG mobile device after being burned twice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Upgrade from the Nexus 5 This is my third Nexus phone, having been through the Nexus 4 and 5. Since purchasing this phone from Amazon over a year ago, I have had no problems with it. I see many people having issues with a boot lock, but I've had no such issues. The phone is fast, it's withstood many drops (and I have no case or screen protector on it), and I've never had any problems. I love the ability to get stock android on a phone, which seems to be getting harder to find. I'm very sad the Nexus line has ended.
