Rated 1 out of 5 by from I am an Idiot bought this March 26th. Adjustable racks collapse all the time. The top rack doesn't' have the capacity that my ancient previous but better dishwasher did. It also still emits a bit of an off-plastic smell. And now, July 19th, the motor went out. Awesome.

This dishwasher is as advertised, one that is very, very quiet. I don't realize it's even working unless I lean down to hear it. My dishes come out always clean with NO cloudiness or food particles clinging to the sides. An excellent product and value for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this DISHWASHER!!! :LG Model LDS5540WW I was hesitant because of some of the bad reviews about it not drying the dishes well and not having something lit up that says its finished. The second part is true and not true. There is nothing lit up that says clean BUT when it is running you can see a timer going the whole time. So i know when it will be done. As for drying the dishes it gets everything extremely dry except plastic. And I think it even drys my dishes better then my old dishwasher which had a heated cycle. Its amazing how hot the dishes are if you take them out immediately after the cycle is done. The best part about this dishwasher is all the ways you can adjust the spaces for dishes. All the other brands do not have this option or not as good as this one. I have been able to get all my big pasta bowls in no problem. I brought my dishes into the store to make sure they would fit, i would suggest you do this too, especially if you have larger bowl. I am really glad I did this because the bowls did not fit in any other dishwasher, the spaces were too small. One of the other complaints I read was about the dishes not standing upright. I have not had this problem but I also make sure to face them in a way where this doesn't happen. So if you just take your time and load it well your dishes will be fine. Overall I LOVE my machine and I installed it myself and I am a woman. Yes it took me 4 hours by myself because it was delivered around 7pm (late). My kitchen was darker so it was harder to see and I would put down a tool go into another room and it would take me a while to find the tool again. The hardest part was installing the new drain line because it was a tight area and a little uncomfortable reaching under the sink and getting around the disposal. But i did it and it makes me love it even more!!! I would suggest having another person to help you install it. If I had someone there to read the instructions and hand me the proper tools, it would have taken an hour maybe an hour and a half. I also suggest you run it a few times before you seal up the bottom to make sure there are no leaks. I didn't have any leaks but still waited for a few washes to make sure it was working properly. I did also watch installation videos on youtube and think that LG could have made a better video starting with unpacking the box (because there is a lot of extra material) with step by step directions. They go very fast in their video and do not show things close up. In this day and age it is not difficult to get out a phone camera and film someone installing it. Would be easy and helpful to other customers. The only con is it takes 3 hours to run the machine but that hasn't been an issue so far. I usually run it at night and sometimes its done before i goto bed. Over all I am VERY VERY happy with my purchase and proud of installing it myself. I would 100% recommend this machine.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dishwasher. This model has not been designed with a PAUSE option available. An EXTRA RINSE cycle can be added to this machine. There is not an option for a RINSE ONLY cycle. If this unit is not cleaning properly, then the dishwasher may require service. My inspector failed the DW in the house I'm selling because he said there was no high loop. The installer did not do a high loop in the drain line because he said it is built into the dishwasher. Who is right?

The display is flashing 1E what does that mean

It is suggested to check for a clogged, kinked or frozen water inlet hose. If this does not resolve the matter, then this unit will likely require service. Any ideas why our dishwasher just stopped turning on? The last several times we've used it we had to try several times to get it to power on. Now it just won't power on at all. Any troubleshooting tips would be much appreciated.

Im using delicate cycle.....how can i be sure it doesnt use heat dry? Where i can control the heat dry?

We appreciate your interest in this dishwasher and its features. The DELICATE cycle is intended for effectively cleaning delicate items such as fine china and stemware. According to the CYCLE SELECTION CHART on page 9 of the owner’s manual, it appears that the DELICATE cycle will utilize a HEATED RINSE cycle, running at about 154 degrees Fahrenheit.

How do I clean filter on LDS550ST dishwasher?

This this washer does not look the same as other LG dishwasher videos on cleaning the filter. How do I clean the filter or is there one to clean?

I've an LG tech here looking at this dishwasher. The sump motor broke. He asserts this unit does not have a food grinder, and that it's a copy-and-paste mistake. This unit does not have a filter and lets food pass through. He also asserts that if this unit breaks down again as result of the what he thinks is non-existent food grinder not working, it will not be covered under warranty. How do I educate him on this and ensure I don't get charged if the food grinder malfunctions in the future. Or do I have to return the 2-month old dishwasher and get another one.
