  • Freesync
  • UltraWide® 21:9
  • Dynamic Action Sync

FreeSync engineered into 29UM67 can do what it does best- it eliminates tearing and stuttering that occur from the difference between a graphic card’s frame rate and monitor’s refresh rate. With FreeSync, you will not settle for anything less than seamless movements in 3D MMORPG ever again. It usually requires more than a nice monitor to fully enjoy 3D games with high-level specifications. When using the 21:9 UltraWide Monitor equipped with FreeSync, you no longer need to upgrade your graphic card to solve this mismatch issue and enjoy high-res, heavy-duty games without going through hassles.

* FreeSync is only available when it is connected to Display Port.

What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my 2016 macbook I'm a web developer and this monitor is the perfect solution for the new macbook due to it only having one HDMI out. I absolutely love it! It also has enough ports on the back for just about every application except thunderbolt. couldn't ask for more versatility for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Monitor This monitor is great and a perfect ultrawide for people wanting to try the 21:9 aspect ratio but have a tight budget, or PC gamers that don't have all to powerful gaming rigs (a more or less modern 4Gb GPU should do it I recommend a R9 380 4Gb) but still want to run games at a 21:9 aspect ratio. For a 5ms response time panel it quite snappy with a very low input lag. The picture quality is great and comes with very decent presets. The only gripe I have is with the monitor's stand, while very good at hiding cables, it can only tilt, and the height can be adjusted between 2 presets (which are 2.5cm apart), but it is VESA compatible so you can mount it on your own monitor mount. But with all that said and done it's an absolutely great monitor for the price and I highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super vibrant and beautiful Definitely a bit pricey for the resolution (IPS 1440p monitors are available at a lower price), but the color accuracy and wide aspect ratio make this monitor worth it in my opinion. My only real wish is for the stand to have height adjust, but that is available on the business model if you don't care about the higher refresh rate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for 3D Modeling and Rendering I was looking for a monitor that I could use for architectural drafting and this is PERFECT! I am able to split the screen, one for working on the floor plan and the other has my project browser and properties panel. It has more than enough space to see everything clearly! Great purchase, which I would have bought it sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!!!!!! This monitor is amazing for gaming. 2560x1080 is perfect and not too stressful on the gpu. For those who read the reviews and were concerned about the 48 to 75hz refresh rate for Freesync. The reviewers all had prototype models. I can confirm that the retail freesync works from 40 to 75hz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful color and size Bought this for gaming and graphic design and all in all it is beautiful with color reproduction and accuracy in the photoshop work space. Gaming wise, best to get a gtx970 or better if you want to have a solid 60fps on high/ultra settings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best monitor I could find for my needs and money. Considering features, screen size, design, quality, and price, It was the best monitor I could find at the time, and possibly still is. I'm very happy with this purchase. Using it primarily for gaming (racing sims) and it makes a big difference comparing to 24" I've used previously. With the latest ATI driver and Windows 10 OS Freesync works fine, but even without it monitor works at 75Hz refresh rate which is good for gaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best monitor hands down for gaming and movie watch I came from a BENQ RL2455HM Gaming Monitor and while the MS response time isn't as low as on the BENQ, with Dynamic Action Sync (DAS) turned on on the LG, I can hardly tell the difference. The colors are also amazing of course going from a TN Panel to an IPS Panel, which makes movie watching and gaming a great treat. I don't have a freesync enabled GPU yet (MSI R9-280X), but you can still turn it on in the monitor settings to take advantage of the 75 HZ Maximum Refresh rate. Even without a freesync enabled GPU, I somehow experience less tearing in games compared to my old BENQ. This most likely as a result of going from 1920x1080 to 2560x1080 resolution driving less frames overall, but my GPU can still drive games in high and ultra with no issues. Since it's 29 Inch Monitor as oposed to 34 Inches, the pixel density is just right so I don't notice any individual pixels. 2560x1080 is an amazing resolution for games that support it, most FPS games do. And of course, movies in general will appear with zero black bars. TV shows, however, will show black bars on the side, which doesn't bother me all that much. Having a nice IPS panel makes the viewing experience well worth it.

We appreciate your interest in this monitor. In reviewing our information, it appears that some models have a film around the edges of the monitor, but not necessarily on the screen itself.

how well does this work in an AutoCAD application?

Asked by: hawk2
If you're going by the criteria that you need to consider on what would be the best monitor for CAD work, the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 34" Class 21:9 UltraWide™ IPS LED Monitor (34" Diagonal), Model # 34UM67-P exceeds those criteria. Typically, dual 19" monitors are considered the minimum for a CAD workstation, but even that setup can be limiting because CAD applications have so many toolbars, palettes, and pop-ups that screen real estate is at a premium so as an UltraWide 34" exceeds the recommended minimum of 22". Monitors with an Aspect Ratio of 16:10 are usually recommended, and again, the 34UM67-P trumps that with an Aspect Ratio of 21:9. The general rule of thumb is that the greater the resolution (that is, the more lines of pixels), the better the image quality; however, to get an accurate indication of image quality, you must consider resolution in conjunction with monitor size to determine pixel density or what is referred to as pixels per inch (PPI). This is something that you may want to consider since the acceptable PPI considered to be the "sweet spot" is between 90 to 100 PPI and for this monitor is 82. Since you'll be sitting close to the monitor, the higher the pixel density, the less noticeable the pixels are and we would recommend the LG 34" Class 21:9 UltraWide™ WQHD IPS LED Monitor (34" Diagonal), Model # 34UM95C-P which has a pixel density of 112. The response time for the 34UM67-P is great at 5 ms (the rule of thumb being that you stay between 5 - 10 ms). Depending on where you'll be using the monitor, if you're in an office space where you'll be collaborating with other people, then the viewing angle may be something else you want to consider. This monitor is an IPS panel which offers great side viewing angles...IFV

Why don't you list the ports on monitor.

People come to the manufactures site to get technical details. You don't even bother to list what ports are on the back or give clear enough pictures so the customer can tell what they are. It appears there is one HDMI and a Display port next to it but I can't be sure. I've seen mentioned that there are two HDMI ports. It would be nice if you listed this and there exact locations are with clear pictures.
Asked by: billlh
That is incorrect, There are 2 HDMI ports, 1 Display Port and 1 DVI port. the second hdmi faces sideways and is hard to see in pictures.

What is the supported range of refresh rates? Usually on adaptive sync monitors there is a range (30hz-144hz as an example) and I can't find this information anywhere.

Asked by: Charlesg
Apparently, LG has selected a variable refresh rate range of 48 to 75 Hz which means Freesync will be operational within those frequencies. The 75Hz cap or reaching 75+ fps can be fixed with a frame rate limiter set to 74-75 which will keep the card from going over that - there are several utilities to perform this and AMD Catalyst Control Center have this tool aswell (Frame Rate Target Control under performance tab). This feature also helps saving GPU power usage in games where you don't need to run full power for them to be playable on your own settings / preferences. The issue for me, seems to be the high value for the lower frequency which is 48Hz which means, getting fps below that value (minimum fps) will drop off FreeSync. A lower value like, 30Hz would be more desirable for me since game performance depends on the processing load in different scenarios among many different games. You can google some reviews about this model which point the above if that was the type of answer you were looking for. If the above doesn't worry you then this is a nice screen considering its format and price. ;)
