Introducing the LG EG9100 OLED TV

New for 2016, the LG EG9100 Full HD OLED TV is the successor to last year’s EC9300, which CNET said had the "Best. Picture. Ever." Now, the next-generation EG9100 offers the same amazing picture quality in a more refined style and with an upgraded remote control, plus the latest webOS 2.0 Smart TV platform.

What is OLED?

OLED TVs use a revolutionary technology with self-lighting pixels for vivid color and infinite contrast. Experts have said it offers the "Best. Picture. Ever."

Perfect Black

LG OLED TV pixels switch off completely to achieve perfect black for infinite contrast, and contrast ratio is considered the key indicator of picture quality.

Intense Color

LG OLED TVs display a wide gamut of accurate colors. And because colors look best against a pure black background, images are now more vibrant and detailed.

Wide Viewing Angle

LG OLED TVs incomparable picture quality holds up even from wide viewing angles so now everyone can appreciate the color and clarity of OLED from any seat.

OLED technology enables a design that is ultra thin and light. It's supremely elegant, and as lovely on a tabletop as it is wall-mounted.

LG webOS Smart TV

LG Smart TV makes it easy to connect to Netflix®, Hulu Plus®, YouTube® and more.² The Magic Remote lets you simply point, click, scroll and even speak your way to exactly what you want, all with a new, more intuitive webOS™ user interface.

LG OLED has some of the most advanced audio technologies to assure a completely captivating audio/video experience.

Immersive 3D

Experience a new dimension in immersive content with 3D lifelike detail that will surprise your eyes.²

What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic picture I did a great deal of research before I bought this tv. I was going to buy a 4K UHD, but I read that the OLED was incredible. I made a great choice. This tv has the best picture I've ever seen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!!! Intense color and 3D I bought this TV a month ago and it has been the best purchase ever. I didn't realize what I was missing before. The picture has such clarity. The colors vibrant. The 3D is absolutely out of the world. I would highly recommend this TV to everyone. We also have the magic remote which I love. My husband can say "Go to NFL Football" and it changes the channel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful picture. I initially went shopping for a 4K television, but when I saw the screen I knew this was the winner. The OLED screen creates an amazing picture; movies and games have never looked so good. The 3D feature is a lot of fun, I can only hope more movies are released in 3D.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning picture! I have had the set for about two weeks. The picture is really fascinating. It appears almost 3D like in the 2D mode! I did customize my settings and found the cinema user mode the best so far for all input sources. There are a lot of customization controls. You can find custom settings data online from a number of sources. We watched the Tomorrowland Blu-Ray and the picture was fantastic. The magic remote control takes a little getting used to, but it is smartly laid out and once you learn to navigate it, it's a breeze. One caveat on the remote is that it is not backlit and in a dark room it is easy to press the wrong button.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best of the Best! I have the LG 55EG9100 now for a month. Coming from a very high end LED HDTV. The viewing quality is far better. It will blow you away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over the Top Have been waiting to buy a OLED tv for ten years but the price has been way to high. Was going to just get a 4K Sony when Best Buy dropped the price. Was a little nervous about the topic of burn in but have not experienced any thing like it as of yet. The picture quality is just amazing. The colors it produces is something to see and the black level. Well! I have gone and watched any movie I could find with outer space sense just to see how the blacks looked. Wow! The only draw back at this time is I am watching way to much TV. Really! It is hard to take your eyes off the screen. Last thoughts. Friends that come over all think it is a 4K model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clarity Unsurpassed My first OLED HD TV and I haven't had second thoughts for a second.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Incredibly THIN! I just bought this yesterday from Best Buy and I am using the 24 Month no interest plan. After 24 Hours with this set, I am amazed! The web OS had some issues yesterday by lagging and when I went to install Pandora, the TV locked up on me. I had to turn the TV off and then back on to get it to unfreeze. Today, different story. Everything works superbly! Must have needed to nap overnight to fix itself! Tried a few 3-D movies, INCREDIBLE! Love this TV! I would have to say its almost better than the 60 inch I lost when my girlfriend and I broke up three weeks ago! I just cannot get over how thin this TV is. I have to look at it from the side every once in a while in pure amazement!

How can I find out if my TV is 2014 or 2015 model , I just purchased from a third party and having a strong  feeling it's a 2014 not 2015 ,also will it show webos2.0 or would simply display webos???

Asked by: Amolshally2010
We appreciate your interest in this television. The EC9300 series TV was designed as a 2014 model, with the original WebOS software. It may be that this unit has received an update to the Operating System to the WebOS 2.0, as such an update was recently released.

There haven't been any announcements from LG that the LG 55" Class (54.6" Diagonal) 1080P Smart 3D Curved OLED TV with webOS, Model # 55EC9300 is being discontinued nor that it will be replaced by the LG 55EG9100. web os 2.0 firmware update?

There is a newer version of the firmware (4.65.50) just released on the Hong Kong LG website. Can I apply to the US model?
Asked by: a25105
It is not recommended to attempt to utilize any firmware updates that are released in other countries. These are not guaranteed for compatibility with software in the United States. When firmware updates are released in the US, they will either be sent directly to the television of the network connection, or will be posted directly to our website.

Can I use a blue tooth speaker?

I want to hear the sound in the house via my surround system and at the same time outside through my blue tooth speaker
Asked by: HandyMac
I apologize, but no; this television has not been designed to send an audio signal through multiple channels simultaneously. When the internal speakers are active, it will not be possible to transmit the audio through an external audio system. This TV does not appear to have the capability for connecting to a Bluetooth Speaker System.

Why doesn't my TV support FLASH?

Asked by: DryHeat
We regret your dissatisfaction in this television and its features. This TV model has not been designed for compatibility with full versions of the Adobe Flash Player. Those TVs which are designed with a version of Flash Player utilize a Mobile version. The internal memory of the TV cannot support a full version of the Flash Player. Unfortunately, Adobe no longer supports, nor provides, mobile versions of a Flash Player. As such, it is not possible to provide an updated Flash Player version.

Will I be able to connect this to my receiver?

I have an older Maranz receiver and would like to connect this tv to it in order to utilize my surround sound speakers. I also just bought a blu-ray machine and would like to hook this up as well.
Asked by: Jeanmarieclub
I don't know about your receiver but I had my TV hooked up to my receiver with a new LG 3D DVD player. The only thing is that I just had my TV calibrated and it looks great. The problem is if I get a new receiver Im told that I would need to calibrate again
