What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought my washer a year and a half ago and love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst washer I've ever owned! I've had my washer for 3 years and one month and the regret began within two weeks of purchase. A. Constantly gets off balance and because the alarm isn't adjustable I never hear it so when I go to put clothes in the dryer I discover I have to redistribute the load and often 2 or 3 times in one load. Laundry day sometimes takes 2 days! B. Odor. YES, I clean it as recommended. YES, I buy the more expensive "recommended" detergent. My clothes smell, especially towels, I had to purchase thin, cheap, towels because all the thick fluffy ones smell. I can't understand how my clothes are clean if they smell and if the dirt is sticking to the washer tub are any of my clothes really getting clean anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed in Product! I bought this about 6 months ago & am very disappointed. I don't like that the water level is too low & the spin cycle stops & starts too much. Wish I had my old washer back!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible machine Is machine is beautiful, but that's it. It uses too much water by continually refilling to balance the load. It takes a day to do one load because of this. I hate this machine. I regret buying it. I will be selling it to get rid of it. It has gotten worse over time. Had I realized it sooner I would have returned it to the store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible As is with most everyone else, this machine has the lowest efficiency possible due to the UE error code issue when the load is not at all uneven. Waste of water, electricity and time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Horrible Horrible Let me start off by saying we went with LG because we have an LG 60 inch television that has never given us any problems and have had LG cell phones that were awesome. However not the same experience with this washer. We purchased this washer in January of 2014 and have had mostly bad experiences. It takes forever to complete a load of laundry because the machine goes off-balance and needs constant attention (who has time to monitor laundry every 15 minutes). We had it serviced in August 2015 and now less than a year later we have to have it serviced again. Last night we couldn't complete a load of laundry because it would not spin. Had to wring the clothes out by hand. I really want to replace it but cant afford to replace a washer every 2 years. I want my money back. This whole experience has been a nightmare. I had a Whirlpool washer for 10 years and we brought it used. Never gave us any problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing but headaches I hate this washer. It goes imbalanced almost every load and takes 90-120 longer than normal load. I purchased it Jan 2014 after Consumers Report rated it high. We hate doing the wash never knowing if it will stay balanced. A repairman finally got LG to replace and upgrade our control board after LG customer service, Roland amd Leo, said there were no recalls or that we were past warranty. I know how to wash clothes properly. I hope LG finally does something. Do not buy unless you want to babysit your washer.

My new top load washer barely agitates, like it is in slow motion. My clothes are not getting clean.

Asked by: Scotts123
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The majority of agitation occurs below the visual level. It is performed mostly by the impeller at the bottom of the tub, and the motion of the drum in directions most frequently other than spinning. If additional information is needed, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

My washer sounds like it is jammed. The drum wont spin and it's making loud noise like it's stuck or locked up. Help!?!?!

Asked by: Tessa716
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. If the tub appears to be locked up, it is suggested first to ensure that the load is not off-balance enough to get the tub wedged into place. If this does not resolve the matter, then the washer will likely require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

I am having plumbing work done and need to test the pipes, how can I fill the tub with water and then drain it. I do not want the rinse and drain option. I want to control the amount of water then drain it.

Asked by: Scoots
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. This model is designed to regulate the amount of water used, in order to operate more efficiently. As such, there is no method available to manually fill the wash tub. One of the available cycles will be the only method available to run water into the machine.

What is that small flip lid used for?

Asked by: Ghjj
According to page 29 of the owner’s manual, the lid is capable of releasing the handle for optional ease in raising the lid with this handle. The HANDLE LOCK feature is described with pictures on how to use this feature.

Why is there brownish/black grimey stuff on my clothes after a wash?

Asked by: Theresa M
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. It is difficult to determine the source of these marks without an inspection on the machine. It is suggested to run a tub clean cycle on the unit. The washer keeps filling with water, over and over, on the spin only cycle. How can I fix this? It's not really energy efficient. Plus the washer keeps getting off balance with every load and repeatedly filling with water.

Asked by: justanswermyquestion
We regret to read that your ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.1 cu. ft. Large Capacity Top Load Washer with Sleek Easy Front Control Panel, Model # WT1101CW keeps filling over and over on the spin cycle. Typically, when the water level on this machine gets too high due to a faulty inlet valve where the machine could even fill with water even while it is turned off, it will display an "FE" error code to indicate a fill error. If that is happening, the machine will need a repair service. If there is a problem with the water level sensor, the machine will display a "PE" error code and again, you will need to unplug the unit to see if the error code disappears but if it persists, the machine will need a repair service. The Water Inlet Valve on your washing machine is used to fill the tub with cold, warm or hot water for the wash and rinse cycles. The valve is operated by electric solenoids that are controlled by the timer or electronic control board and the water level control/water level selector switch or pressure switch. If your washer continues to fill during a cycle, the water inlet valve could be at fault. If the washer continues to fill when the symptom occurs after being unplugged, then the problem may be due to a defective water inlet valve. If the washer stops filling, then the problem is related to the electrical circuit that controls the valve...^IFV
