What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible sensors The balancing sensors on this thing are junk which will constantly mean that every load you do will become unbalanced. Once it is unbalanced any sense of efficiency is removed as it will constantly refill with water and double the length of the wash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 repairs in 2 years I have only had this washer for a little over 2 years and I have already had to repair it twice. The first was for the pump that pumps the water out of the washer. Luckily that one came within the warranty period. Now the washer won't stop filling without me turning off the water at the source. Now I have to get it repaired again and this time I will have to pay for it. Oh and one last thing...two repair calls later, no one works on LGs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Its Awful! It is always off balance. Our water bill has gone up a ton since it refills to get itself off balance. Each load takes about three hours by the time it is done:(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst washer I ever owned This machine has never worked properly from day one. The spin cycle stops and starts , filling with water over and over again and never finishing the load. Eventually it just stops. I have had it "repaired" 4 times with new control panels, with the same results it doesn't work.I think the problem is in the smart drum being too sensitive and thinking it's out of balance when it's not. At any rate I doubt it will ever work right and I am buying a new washer as soon as possible. Never another LG product for sure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This will Help if you have Unbalanced errors OK , I had the same unbalanced load error problem that develop after one year of not having issues with my LG washer. For the last month it took me over 3 hours to do a load because of unbalanced load issues. I then googled this and realized how many more people had the same issues and I asked why I bought this washer with so many problems reported. So I reread the owners manual and decided to level the washer as instructed in the manual from side to side and front and back. I then watched a tutorial on LG's website on how to load the washer and another on how the machine operates, thus I was able to understand loading the machine with heavy things first was so important. They also had tips on zippering your pant up and other ideas to help the machine do its job. I then pushed my washer up tight to the wall and put the dryer right next to it so it created a tight fit.. I then proceeded to do six loads and have had no issue with the unbalanced load error coming up. I hope this may eliminate a service call for other people and now I am once again a fan of my LG washer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible washer.....constantly have to rebalance. Unless you are washing a very small load, the "True Balance" does NOT work. We spend more time manually rebalancing, more water since it try's to rebalance with filling the tub each time it stops the cycle due to unbalanced. If we could we would exchange out to another unit. Stay away from this one!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor cleaning This washer does get clean clothes. I had a front loader before this that did a great job so I'm not reviewing it against an agitator model. The "sensor" does not sense the laundry level to adequately fill the washer. There's little action to actually clean the clothes. Also the clothes often get unbalanced during the spin cycle requiring an extra rinse.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT do it! I have had this machine for over a year now. From the beginning it has been such a hassle to just wash a load of clothing. If you put more than 3-5 items in to wash not only does it take over 2 hours to wash but some of it will come out as dry as when you put it in. I seriously watched yesterday as the spin cycle was on 12 minutes and it took over 45 minutes to FINALLY spin through the cycle.

My wife hates this washer because it shows UE error with almost every load. The machine is level and I believe there is a problem somewhere else.

Our washer is making a grinding noise during agitation only. And not agitating. Works fine with no noise on spin though. What is this and how can I fix it?

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The agitation function of this machine does not operate in the same manner as a traditional washer. The agitation feature moves the entire tub of the unit to mix and move the clothing. Check this operation of the machine. If this does not resolve the matter, then there could be a problem with the unit. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at

My washer shows UE almost ever load . It is  uneven no matter what we do and if it doesn't stop and show code it will restart the load from beginning over and over. It is taking forever to finish a load!

Asked by: Bb1976
We are having the same exact problem. We have had our washer for less then two years. Last month, one of the hoses under the washer broke and got water everywhere. Now every time we wash anything, the UE code always comes up.

The door to our top loading washing machine no longer closes slowly. Do you know if this is something we can fix?

Asked by: julkem
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. If the door no longer closes slowly, then the matter will likely be related either to the hinge or another related component. We cannot make a full determination, as we are not technicians. I've noticed someone mentioned a liquid detergent tray. I've also seen it mentioned in the manual. My parents and I have the same LG washer and neither of us have a tray in the detergent drawer. Should there be a separate tray in the detergent drawer?

Asked by: SammyJane
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. It is suggested to review the diagrams on page 19 of your owner’s manual. This should indicate the difference in the dispenser tray compartments.

I asked previously if the Wt1101CW haa a hand wash cycle. Your reply took me to the specs. I want to know if the machine provides a hand wash capability. Not if there is a cycle called 'hand wash'. I'm replacing an older front load LG that had it.

Asked by: WT1101CW Washer
I washed hand wash items with the delicate cycle. Just choice the slowest and lower everything. I have to say I personally NEVER shrunk ruined or damage any item I washed.

Why does detergent dispenser remain full of water??

Purchased this washer about 3 weeks ago, noticed that sometimes the detergent dispense was full of water when starting another load of clothes. The problem with the dispenser being full of water is getting more frequent and now occurs about 70% of time. This after only having this washer a few weeks?????
Asked by: jblg
Agree with lifting the dispenser a little. Also are you using too much soap? You should only use MAX a 2 level of He detergent even for large load and level 1 for small  it may be trying to clean tray out and ends up with extra water bc of that. Also remove drawer and make sure there is no tape or packaging from purchasing it. I had hidden tape in odd places.
