Why does my washer leak?

Washer leaked from the left rear on the first day. It was replaced by another one. It worked fine for 30 days and it started leaking - in a different place than the first one. Model WT4870CW. We just wash clothes; there is no abuse of machine.
Asked by: Rowdee
This started happening with my washer as well, after ~1.5 yrs. It leaks around the bottom left side and also the front left. I've had a technician look twice, but he isn't able to determine the problem. It's not a huge amount of water, but enough to need a few microfiber towels to soak up the water.

The washer Vibrates on spin cycle. even with no clothes in the drum. Is this normal? The vibration is almost enough to slosh water out of a small cup if placed on the lid. No error codes, all functions work.
Asked by: lgkp
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. If the cabinet is not properly leveled, then it would not be uncommon for the machine to vibrate. This occurrence can happen more frequently if there is nothing in the tub.

Water Inlet Filter

What is the part number and where can I get the small orange water inlet filter screens for the hoses?
Asked by: ghinga
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine and its accessories. The water hose filters are accessories that are not kept or supplied by our distributors. These can, however, be found at any local hardware or appliance store, for use with standard water lines.

Washer whistles when water is filling - problem?

Asked by: Pool
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this washing machine. The whistling of a water line typically occurs due to the restriction of water flow, whether this be related to the water valves of the washer, the wall, or the restriction in the water hoses themselves.

Not enough Water WT4870C

Our clothes have not been clean when removed from this top load washer and have bleach stains when using the bleach dispenser. Today I decided to stop a load in them middle of the wash cycle and discovered that water is only midway covering the clothes. This does not seem correct, even for an water saving machine.
Asked by: DryWasher
For more than 20 years, I have been a stickler about laundering clothes so I treat this washer just as I did my previous one. Although this washer is supposedly designed to save water, I turn the washer back to the beginning and start over without restarting an entire wash load. This is what I am trying to say: 1. Load the dirty clothes 2. Set my settings 3. Allow the load to wash but not rinse 4. Turn the setting back to the beginning right before the soapy clothes are about the drain By following these steps, I have more water and have washed the clothes twice. Of course, I set the "soak feature" but I have germ-a-phobia. When I follow these steps, my clothes come out sparking clean. I use bleach sparingly on my sheets and towels and the normal amount of bleach on my whites. After the wash cycle finishes the whites, I poor regular tap water in the bleach dispenser. (I have always done it this way and never have had any bleached stains.) I am so sorry this is happening to you but hopefully this opinion will help.

Best wash cycle for dirty heavy duty clothes

My husband is a landscaper and comes home with mud, dirt, dust and debris on his clothes. We shake the clothes and check the pockets but there is usually mud or other stains that requires additional work before putting them in the wash. My question is, do I have to manually scrub the mud off his jeans before placing them in the wash? Or is there a cycle that will help. I don't expect the jeans to come out brand new, but I do expect them to look better than when they entered. A couple months ago I put a pair of jeans with mud stains in the wash. It was the type of mud you could scrape off with a finger nail (and it would come right off) there was NOT a lot of mud just a couple of spots. When the load finished I was horrified, the mud was still there, as if it never even moved. I washed them again on a heavy duty cycle and nothing -still mud. I want to know if I'm using the wrong cycle or if this machine can't simply clean some wet mud out of jeans. My old washer with the agitator worked great and always removed most of the mud stains and I didn't have to manually wash them beforehand.

I don't have that problem, my son is a welder and his clothing gets quite dirty, they come out as clean as any other washer I've used. My problem is that after having this washer for a year, I can only do one load every several days. If I try to do a second load, or a small load, the washer will not complete the spin cycle. No matter what I try, it will not completely finish spinning. I must put my wash in the dryer with a lot more water in them then I would if I had one of my older washer This "Life's Good" (LG) does NOT make my life good!!!!!! I wouldn't recommend this washer to my worst enemy.
