Towers of towels, piles of sweatshirts, and a mountain of jeans? Go for it. The Ultra Large Capacity (4.7 cu.ft.) washer lets you do more laundry in fewer loads. That’s time saved and sore backs avoided.

The hottest thing in cold clean

Using the cold cycle on your washer doesn’t have to mean compromising. ColdWash™ technology uses cold water and enhanced washing motions to penetrate deep into fabrics, giving you cold water savings with warm water performance.

Catch the wave

If you thought water had done all it could to clean your clothes, you haven't experienced WaveForce™ technology. Rapid drum movement and powerful water jets provide a revolutionary washing and rinsing experience.

Get wise

Get wise

If you ever experience an issue with your LG washer, you don't have to worry. The SmartDiagnosis™ feature helps the service center diagnose problems over the phone, or with a simple app on your smart phone, helping you minimize costly, inconvenient service calls.

Count on it

When you buy a washer, you want something reliable that you can count on. Because the Direct Drive Motor uses fewer moving parts and operates more efficiently, LG confidently backs the motor with a 10-year limited warranty.

Wash in peace

You shouldn’t know your washer is on when you're in the next room. The LG TrueBalance™ anti-vibration system is designed to minimize washer noise and vibration for smooth, quiet performance in any room of the house - even on the 2nd floor.

Save money. Save energy.

Save money. Save energy.

When your washer uses about 30% less energy and half the amount of water used by regular washers, you’re going to make an impact—on your utility bills, your energy and water consumption, and most importantly, the environment.

What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pump leaking at 16 months Was 1 year in June and just flooded our laundry room (16 mos. old). Appears to have a leak in the pump. Extremely disappointed in the cheap materials that would allow this to happen just over a year. Checked for coins or some "cause" for the leak, but honestly I'm pretty diligent with checking pockets and would have been surprised to find anything...which I did not. Not a cheap product. Will never buy another.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of Garbage Cycles are extraordinarily long. Washer becomes unbalanced at the drop of a hat. Clothes are not cleaned. Speed cycle leaves tiny holes in clothing after a number of uses. If I could haul this piece of junk to the curb and let someone steal it I would. I have never had such a bad appliance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wondering if my clothes are clean This is the worst washing machine I have owned. It either puts too much or not enough water in the tub. Sometimes clothes hardly get wet. I have used the add water feature then it puts too much water in the tub. Seems like I am always playing games with it to get enough water to wash the clothes. I know it's supposed to be water efficient, but this is ridiculous.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Washer A little deep to reach to the bottom to get clothes out. Need a meeting to add more water if needed

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesnt Clean! We have had this washer for a couple of years and we hate it! Spent so much $$ on this and it takes way too long to go through a cycle and nothing comes clean. My Husband works HVAC and never had a problem getting his work clothes clean with our old 20 year old washer. Wish my old one hadn't died and wish I wouldn't have bought this machine

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate this thing It doesn't get clothes clean. Easy stains don't come out. After a cycle I can blot with a towel and get stains off myself. So it's clearly an issue of the machine leaving clothes dirty. Also the cycles are way too long. The timer on it isnt accurate enough to call it an estimated time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Washer off balance I have this washer for over a year now, and mostly have no complaints until I have to wash a heavy load of bedding. I bought this washer because of the capacity however even with one queen size cotton blanket, i get an error message right at 13 minutes before the end of cycle. This is quite frustrating because I purchased a large washer to be able to handle our bedding.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible! Purchased this washer in 2013. Almost immediately, we needed to have it serviced because wash cycles were lasting almost 3 hours. Technician said the filter needed to be replaced. Worked for a while, but even with replacing the filter, the washer takes FOREVER to finish a load. We've just suffered through it, but a couple of years, but now the washer just stops mid-cycle 2 to 3 times, and requires one to re-start it. Dreadful.

How can I get more water in the washer, 2" is not enough.  I am on the 3rd wash on a load of soiled hiking pants.  The meager water at the bottom of the tub is still filthy.  I press & hold the add water button for every single load, but doesnt help

Asked by: Kaladigirl
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The ADD WATER button is not designed to be held down for adding more water. For this cycle, unless the fabric care labels say otherwise, you might try the HEAVY DUTY cycle, with a HEAVY setting on the SOIL LEVEL, then press the EXTRA RINSE button for 3 seconds, until the WATER PLUS option activates. The SOAK option can also be used with this cycle.

Does not play signal when wash is complete..I've turned it off and on still nothing what do I need to do?

Asked by: TooFine
Unplugging the LG 4.7 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity High Efficiency Top Load Washer with WaveForce™, Model # WT5070CW will reset the washer, but the Child Lock button is also the SIGNAL OFF-LOW-HIGH button, check that it was not inadvertently turned off. If that is not the case, the unit may need a repair service...^IFV

How much bedding can you wash at once safely?

Asked by: Krome
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine and its capabilities. The amount of bedding that can be washed at any one time will depend greatly upon the individual bedding set. The size and thickness of the different components can vary between sets, causing different amounts to be used.

What is wrong with my washer?

Recently I've loaded small-large oads in my washer and each time when it begins to spin it makes a very load sound as if metal was scraping against other metal.
Asked by: CaramelMountains
There was a coin in mine on the bottom where it rotates and the sides of the tub meet. I was able to get the coin out and it worked afterwards. If there is a coin in there it won't spin either. I hope this helps.

Gallons used?

We live in California where we are in the middle of a huge drought and are limited to a certain number of gallons of water used each month. How many gallons (average since each cycle may be different) does this machine use?
Asked by: Kelly2girls
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. The average water usage for a washer load is around 15 gallons per cycle.

why does my WT5070CW washer not always dispense fabric softener?

Washer does not always dispense fabric softener? Intermittently, seems to happen when several loads are done one right after another.
Asked by: SteveJS
Fabric Softener, much like detergent, can build up in the fabric softener compartment and the build up can prevent the Fabric Softener from being dispensed properly in the LG 4.7 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity High Efficiency Top Load Washer with WaveForce™, Model # WM5070CW. As recommended in your owner's manual, you should always dilute concentrated fabric softeners with warm water and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum fill line and that the compartments are firmly closed...^IFV

Discontinued washer & dryer... advice

Hello, We are purchasing a new washer and dryer and my friend LOVES her LGs so we really wanted to buy the same ones she has. LG WT5070C LG DLGX5171W However, I've looked and it appears they are discontinued. 1. Why were these models discontinued? 2. What current models are the same as the ones that are discontinued? Several stores have listed comparable items but not the same items so I have no idea which product is closest to the one I want. Thank you Julie
Asked by: Jrath
There are many reasons as to why the LG 4.7 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity High Efficiency Top Load Washer with WaveForce™, Model # WT5070CW and its' matching Gas Dryer, Model # DLGX5171W were discontinued. This washer and its matching dryer were released in 2012 so it may be that they were replaced with newer, more efficient units that conform to newer energy efficiency standards. Other times, a particular retailer may decide to discontinue a unit but other stores may still be carrying it. If you visit he LG site [] you will find the WT5070CW and the DLGX5171W are not listed as discontinued units and when you click on the "where to buy" link and enter your zip code in the appropriate field, you will find stores that show that they are still carrying these units...^IFV
