LG CINEMA 3D GAME FESTIVAL BERTHS IN NIGERIA

LG Electronics, Nigeria’s leading consumer Electronics brand has taken a lead to set off the first ever CINEMA 3D Game Festival in Nigeria in order to demonstrate to the public the potential of its 3D products in the gaming environment. The event mirrored the energy and excitement from over 200 combatants which was the first phase of the competition which took place at DEEHall in Alausa, Lagos.

The 3D Games Festival tagged “LG 3D Wars” had participants from all over the country take part in the contest which would single out the LG 3D War Champion at the end of the competition. The grand winner goes home with an LG 55”inch Cinema Screen 3D TV. “A Similar event which took place in Korea some months back recorded a huge success and because the Nigerian market is very important to us, we decided to make Nigeria the next point of call” Said Mr. Dave Shin, General Manager, Home Entertainment division LG Electronics.

He further said “Hearing about how good our 3D TV, is one thing, seeing them in action is quite another, “LG is currently the only company offering a 3D experience on such a wide variety of products.

Visitors to LG’s booth played some of the newest 3D game titles from Blizzard and were able to experience 3D action on Microsoft’s XBOX Kinect. Utilizing LG’s proprietary 2D to 3D conversion technology, all the games were displayed in thrilling 3D. LG’s lightweight and battery-free glasses worked on all CINEMA 3D products so thousands of spectators were able to watch the action with their own pair of free glasses which they received at the event.

Also speaking, Mr. Mohamed Fouani, Managing Director, Fouani Nigeria Limited said,  LG’s 3D Game Festival in Nigeria will be visiting other cities in the country including Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Abuja etc later this year to enable its numerous customers experience LG’s full line-up of 3D offerings.

The second Leg of the competition would take place at the Silverbird Cinema in Lagos as a build up to the Semi Finals and Finals. Interested participants were told to register via the 3D TV Wars Micro site (www.lg3dgamesfestival.com.ng), upon which they would receive confirmation of their entry. Globally, LG has been known for various innovative products which in no time made its way into the Nigerian market. Last year LG introduced the World’s First battery free, flicker free FPR 3D glasses which were lighter that the regular 3D glasses.

Mr. Joseph Jatto who emerged as winner in the finals said “I am overwhelmed that a brand like LG could give Nigerian’s the opportunity to remain as happy as ever by putting this contest together and winning this kind of prize, I mean the lastest TV model of a leading brand makes feel on top of the world".

LG has introduced various display products ranging from Plasma to LCD and now more of LED 3D TVs in the Nigeria market.
