LG Phone - Energy saving mode is not working.

Troubleshooting

Energy saving mode is not working.

  Symptom

You can’t select Power Saving Mode.

How to fix

Check the mode.

When it is set as THX, the brightness is set appropriate for theatre (dark mode).

1. Check Energy Saving Mode Settings

  • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Saver (or similar option depending on your model).
  • Ensure that Energy Saving Mode is activated.
  • Review and adjust the settings to ensure they align with your energy-saving needs.

2. Restart Your Phone

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve minor glitches. Turn off your phone and turn it back on to see if the issue persists.

3. Update Software

  • Go to Settings > System > Software Update.
  • Check for any available updates and install them. Software updates often include bug fixes that could resolve energy-saving mode issues.

4. Check Battery Health

  • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Usage.
  • Check if the battery is performing well. If the battery is degraded, it may affect energy-saving mode performance. Consider replacing the battery if necessary.

5. Manage Background Apps

  • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Usage.
  • Review apps consuming significant power and restrict or close them if they are not needed.

6. Reset App Preferences

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Menu (three dots) > Reset App Preferences.
  • This action will reset all app preferences without deleting any app data, which can help resolve conflicts.

7. Clear Cache Partition

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Boot into recovery mode (usually by holding the Volume Down button + Power button simultaneously).
  • Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe Cache Partition and select it. This can clear temporary files that might be causing issues.

8. Factory Reset

  • As a last resort, if none of the above solutions work, you can perform a factory reset.
  • Go to Settings > System > Reset > Factory Data Reset.
  • Be sure to back up your important data before performing a factory reset.
