[LG refrigerator - condensation] Condensation forms around the door gasket.

Troubleshooting

Does the door of the refrigerator or the door gasket in the home bar have condensation around it?

Causes and Symptoms

  • Indoor humidity is high as it is the rainy season.
  • The refrigerator door is not closed completely
  • The door gasket is stained with a foreign object so that it cannot tightly seal the refrigerator door.

In the humidity of summer, when you open and close the refrigerator, moisture may meet cold air and form water droplets on the door gasket.
This is like a cold water bottle you have just taken out from the refrigerator having water drops form on it.
This is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the high humidity of summer. Wipe the water off the surface of the refrigerator or the door gasket with a dry cloth.

Try this

Do you have your refrigerator in a place of high humidity or near windows?

➔ It is recommended that you place your refrigerator where temperatures are 5℃ to 43℃, humidity is low, and ventilation is good.

If the refrigerator is installed in a veranda or a place near windows where outside humid air can easily enter, water droplets may form on the door gasket.
At this time, wipe them off with a dry towel.

Is the refrigerator door not completely closed and leaking cold air?

➔ Close the refrigerator door completely.

If the refrigerator door is not closed tightly, cold air may leak and meet highly humid air to form water droplets on the door gasket.
If the drawers or shelves haven’t been reassembled properly after cleaning the refrigerator, remove and reinsert them correctly.
If you have placed too much food in the compartment, take some of the food out.
If there is a cover on top of the refrigerator, or if you have put a plastic bag in the storage space on the refrigerator door, remove it as it may get caught in the refrigerator door.

The refrigerator door is open, and cold air should pour out and close the door.

➔ If the floor is not level, the front of the product may become lower and thus the door may not be closing tightly.

To lift the front of the refrigerator higher, adjust the level of the refrigerator by turning the leveling screws clockwise.

Rotate the height adjustment screw clockwise to level it

Is the door gasket stained with a foreign object so that it cannot tightly seal the refrigerator door and it leaks cold air?

➔ Clean the door gasket using a detergent.

If the door gasket is stained with hardened foreign objects, the gasket may fall out as you open and close the refrigerator forming an opening through which air leaks.
Wipe the door gasket with a hot steamed towel, and clean it using some toothpaste on a toothbrush or sponge.
After cleaning, wipe with the gasket with a dry towel once again to prevent any remaining moisture from condensing into water droplets.

Wait! Here are more tips
If the door gasket has fallen out or is loose so that it does not tightly seal the door of the refrigerator, press it back into the groove in the refrigerator door.
