[LG styler] After I use the styler, water remains on the inner wall or my clothes, or leaks to the bottom

Troubleshooting

After Styling is done, are there water drops left inside the styler or are your clothes wet?
Has lots of water leaked onto the floor where the styler is located? Do you feel that water falls from the styler to the floor?

Causes and Symptoms

  • Air does not properly ventilate the inside of the styler.
  • You didn’t fully ventilate the styler after running it.
  • Small parts of the product such as the grill or the drain tray (bucket) are not properly installed.

Your styler removes dirt, odors, and wrinkles from your clothes by using hot steam and thus may leave condensed water inside it.
Most of the humidity gets removed but sometimes the hot steam meets air from outside and condenses to water droplets when you open the door while the styler is running.
In addition, when the filter is covered with dirt, air ventilation may fail and thus water may not be evaporated.
If oil is on the wall inside the styler, water vapor may cling to it and remain there.
If the floor on which your styler is installed is wet, parts of the styler may have incorrectly installed.
Check if the door gasket is torn or damaged.

Try this

Does water remain in your clothes after Styling?

➔ Carefully spread fully dried clothes in the styler so that they don’t overlap each other, make sure you take them out right after the operation is complete and provide full ventilation.
Clean the filter if it is covered with dirt.

Leave enough space between heavy clothes so as to avoid them overlapping each other. Put only one piece of heavy clothing, such as a heavy winter coat or a long puffer jacket, in the styler before you run it.
To prevent water vapor from sticking to your clothes, it is recommended that you remove your clothes and ventilate them within 40 minutes of the end of a cycle.
Periodically clean the filter to ensure good air ventilation inside the styler.
Try to fully dry your clothes before you start styling to facilitate styling. However, if they are still wet after styling, run Customized Dry.

Cleaning the Filter
Remove the filter and clean it
1. Hold both sides of the grill and lift it up. Then, take out the filter located under the grill.
2. Remove dirt from the filter by using a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner.
3. Wash the filter with water, let it fully dry, and then reinstall it.

Standard Dry removes only an optimal amount of humidity by using a sensor inside the styler.
If you want to dry your clothes more, use the Select Time in the Dry menu.

➔ Clean the styler to remove any oil which may have been left inside the styler, clean any dirt from the filter, and always operate the styler with a tightly closed door.

If the door is not closed properly, the hot air inside the styler may meet the cool air outside, condense to water droplets, and thus leave water residue.
Before you run the styler, ensure that there are no clothes caught inside it.
In addition, oil stains on clothes or oil in cosmetics may combine with water vapor and remain in the bottom of the machine.
In that case, use the cleaning gloves that came with the styler to wipe the inner walls clean.
If the filter is covered with lots of dirt, air ventilation will be interfered with and thus water may be left. Clean the filter following the steps mentioned in the above paragraph, Cleaning the Filter.

In the winter, the outdoor temperature drops, the gap between the inside and outside temperatures of the styler increases, and thus water vapor may condense and leave lots of water droplets.
At this time, the water droplets left inside the door gasket do not dry and they flow down into the tray that is installed in the bottom of the styler.
As this is a natural phenomenon, remove any water in the tray and reinstall the tray.

Is water leaking or left outside after Styling?

➔ Properly install the grill and the drain bucket or tray.
Clean the filter if it is covered with dirt.

If the grill is installed in the wrong direction or if the drain bucket or tray is incorrectly installed, water created while the styler is running may leak out.
Check the direction of the grill and properly install the drain bucket or tray as follows.
If the filter is covered with lots of dirt, clean the filter following the instructions noted in the paragraph Cleaning the Filter.

Check the direction of the grill and reinstall it.
Check the orientation of the filter grille. Marked Front
1. After installing the filter, install the grill ensuring that the Front mark faces toward the front.
2. If the left and the right sides differ in shape, place the part that has an opening to the right and insert it into its position.
If the grill is misplaced so that an opening is made, foreign objects may enter the filter.
Check the drain tray and reinstall it.
Reassemble the drain and water supply bottle to make a clicking noise
1. Pull out the drain tray from the styler and completely empty it.
2. Put the drain tray in its place and gently push it until it clicks into place.
Empty the tray and reinstall it.
Empty the water from the bottom tray and reassemble it to make a clicking noise
1. Remove the tray by pulling it out from the bottom of the styler.
2. If the tray is filled with water up to the Max mark, completely empty the water.
3. Hang the left hook of the tray on the left leg of the styler and push until it clicks into place.
When the left hook is fastened firmly, push the right hook until it clicks into place.

The product is new but it leaks water or has water remaining

➔ Press the door gasket and firmly fasten the door before you run the machine.

If your styler is new, the door gasket may still be quite hard and not firmly contact the door, leaking steam and water.
In this case, close the door of the styler and press the door gasket firmly where contact is loose before you run your machine.
If the door gasket that seals the door is torn or deformed, as shown in the figure below, contact an LG Electronics Service Center.
