LG Air Conditioner (Inverter model) - The outdoor unit keeps going on and off during its operation.

Troubleshooting

 ■ Title

- ( Inverter model ) The outdoor unit  keeps going on and off during its operation.

■ Problem

- Cooling

■ Symptom

The outdoor unit is not operating during  cooling

■  Solution or Settings

- The inverter outdoor units can enhance/ diminish the cooling performance of the appliance by controlling the rotating speed of the compressor according to the room

  temperature.

If the room temperature is much higher than the desired temperature, a lot of cooling  is required so it increases the rotating speed of the compressor and

If the room temperature is a little higher  than the desired temperature, the rotating speed  of  the compressor is lowered to maintain less cooling.

I nverter controlling   method 1

When it reaches the desired temperature, the rotating speed of the compressor as well as the outdoor fan decreases (Pressure controlling method)

At this point, the compressor and the outdoor fan do not stop operating completely, but continue to operate at low speed, which is the reason why you may feel

that  “The outdoor unit goes on and off during its operation or stops operating".

I nverter controlling method 2

- When it reaches the desired temperature, the rotating speed of the compressor is reduced, but the rotating speed of the outdoor fan is maintained.

  (step controlling method)

At this point, the rotating speed of the compressor reduces while the rotating speed of the outdoor fan is maintained which is the reason why you may feel

that "the outdoor unit goes on and off or stops operating" .

※ The outdoor unit is turned off when the room temperature is lower than the desired temperature by 1°C or more.

When there is a little difference between the room and desired temperature, the inverter saves more energy by reducing the rotating speed of the compressor

    to maintain the desired temperature.

When it reaches the desired temperature(set temperature), it reduces the

rotating speed of the compressor.

As the compressor rotating speed decreases, operation noise and vibration

    are reduced as well.

At this point, you may feel “The outdoor unit goes on and off during its operation

    or stops operating ."

For inverter air conditioners, the outdoor unit does not go off even  when it has reached the desired temperature.

T he appliance uses minimum  energy required to keep the unit from turning off, and by doing to it can meet  and maintain the desired temperature using less power.

The outdoor unit may stop its operation under following situations:

1) When the capacity of the air conditioner exceeds the covered area.

: If the capacity of the air conditioner exceeds the covered area, the room temperature drops down quickly and  it may cause overcooling.

 2) When the reset value of the desired temperature is higher than current room temperature.

■ Summary

The inverter outdoor units can enhance/ diminish the cooling performance of the appliance by controlling the rotating speed of the compressor according to the room

  temperature.

- If the room temperature is much higher than the desired temperature, a lot of cooling  is required  so it increases the rotating speed of the  compressor and

- If the room temperature is a little higher than the desired temperature, the rotating speed  of  the compressor is lowered  to maintain less cooling.

At this point, the compressor and the outdoor fan do not stop completely, but continue to operate at  low speed,   which is the reason  why you may feel that

“The outdoor unit goes on and off during its operation or stops operating."
