[LG refrigerator noise] A hissing or a water dripping noise is heard.

Troubleshooting

The cooling coils (evaporator) inside the refrigerator contain refrigerant that flows to produce cold air, which causes frost to form around the evaporator.

To remove accumulated frost, the refrigerator goes through a defrost cycle after running for a certain period of time.
During this process, any ice or melted water attached to the evaporator falls off and may come into contact with the heater located below the evaporator.
This causes the water to vaporize instantly and create a sound.
Additionally, during the defrost cycle, the case (made of plastic material) surrounding the evaporator can make a sound by expanding and contracting.
This is caused by the internal heater operating.
Refer to the content below for other sounds from the refrigerator.

Does it make cracking and clicking noises?

➔ The cracking and clicking noises are normal as they occur when the refrigerator components contract and expand due to the temperature changes inside the refrigerator; this is not a sign of malfunction.

When various control devices are operating, the sound is from the parts that act like switches.

Does it make a hissing noise after closing the door?

➔ The hissing noise that occurs immediately after closing the door is the sound of the pressure inside the refrigerator momentarily decreasing due to the rapid cooling of the warm air that entered when the door was opened.
This sound disappears once the internal temperature stabilizes.

Does it make a rattling, thumping, and/or humming noise?

➔ The rattling, thumping, and humming noises that can occur when the refrigerator starts up after a period of rest are the sounds of the motor (compressor) or fan starting up.
Similar to how a car engine starts up and produces more noise and vibration at first, the refrigerator's sounds will gradually decrease as the internal temperature stabilizes.

Wait! Here are more tips
Refrigerators are made up of many parts, and as they operate, they can make noises.
In addition, temporary noises may be heard during the process of pressure difference generation as the refrigerant flows inside the refrigerator.
This is a natural sound generated during refrigerator operation, and rest assured as it is not a product defect.
