[LG refrigerator refrigeration] Food stored in the refrigerator compartment is frozen.

Troubleshooting

Is food stored in the refrigerator compartment frozen? Is the food with lots of moisture, such as fruits, vegetables, and tofu, stored in the refrigerator frozen?

There is an outlet from which cold air comes out in the very back of the shelves in the refrigerator compartment.
There is where cold air of almost 0℃ comes out, so if you store food near the outlet, the food may become frozen.

Causes and Symptoms

  • The temperature of the refrigerator compartment is set too low (0 to 1℃).
  • The food is stored near to where the cold air is emitted.
  • The refrigerator compartment is filled with food up to the top so the temperature sensor is blocked.

Try this

Is the refrigerator compartment temperature set to low temperature in [High] (0 to 1℃)?

➔ Set the temperature of the refrigerator compartment higher to [Moderate] or [Low] (3 to 6℃) so the food is not frozen.

Refrigeration Temperature Control

Have you stored food in the upper shelf of the refrigerator compartment?

➔ Store food in the lower shelf or the vegetable drawer.

There is an area where cold air comes out in the very back of the upper shelf in the refrigerator compartment.
Store food that contains moisture and is easily frozen, such as fruits, vegetables, and tofu, in the lower shelf or the vegetable drawer.

Cold air comes out from the inside of the refrigerator

Is the food blocking the temperature sensor so that the refrigerator cannot detect the temperature properly?

➔ Organize food so that it will not touch the top of the refrigerator.

A temperature sensor is usually located in the upper section of a refrigerator compartment.
If the temperature sensor is blocked by food, the refrigerator may consider the temperature of the refrigerator too high and generate more cold air, lowering the temperature excessively.

The location of temperature sensors may differ depending of the particular machine.
If you use a side-by-side refrigerator, a temperature sensor is usually located in the back of the shelf close to the top of the refrigerator compartment.
Removing objects in front of the temperature sensor

Is the refrigerator located where the ambient temperature is low, or outside, such as on a balcony?

➔ A refrigerator works best in a location where the temperature is between 5℃ and 43℃.

If you install a refrigerator in a location that is too cold, food may be frozen regardless of the temperature set for the refrigerator compartment.
If you installed a refrigerator outside, such as on a balcony, we recommend moving it indoors where it will be less affected by the ambient temperature.
