LG 42 inch CINEMA 3D Smart TV LN5700

I have had LG3D (passive 3D) for more than 10 years and I still love it! I fear the day it will stop working! Please take back passive 3D TVs!!

I bought one of these after I saw it in use at a friend's home. What AMAZED me most was the fact that it can turn ANYTHING on the screen into 3D... the news, videos, films, my computer (via HDMI input)... EVERYTHING. Meaning, you don't necessarily have to have a 3D version of a film to view in 3D. It can convert IN REAL TIME ANY IMAGE. Quite SPECTACULAR! Though 3D film copies are even better BUT NOT NECESSARY!
I've had NO ISSUES with this TV and I bought mine second hand seven years ago... and it's travelled around Australia so it's also VERY robust.
A shame it's discontinued since 3D sort of went out of fashion after the AVATAR film craze.
Finally, although you can find the polarised glasses cheap on Ebay and Gumtree etc, they are rather delicate BUT, I also use pairs of RealD-3D glasses from the cinema which are MUCH STRONGER and you can find these everywhere cheap too.

If you get the chance to pick up one of these DO NOT HESITATE!
I cannot recommend this TV highly enough. And I've seen MANY 3D TV's. This literally beats them hands down. I hope this helps someone. BRAVO LG. What a damn fine product you made.

Getting hard to find, but I have had 3 LG 3D TV's and 2 S*ny Br*via 3D TV's ALL PASSIVE 3D!
Between the 2 brands LG takes it Hand's down !!
S*ny had a limited run of Passive 3D manufacturing. Most were Active 3D...
IF you can find one on Craigslist, 2018 was the LAST year S*ny Br*via made Passive 3D Tv's however, that particular year, Android ran Br*via. SO, you could actually download apps from the G**gle Play site!
Still, that being said, LG Takes it!
Easier 3D adjustments, FAR better depth control, especially when in Simulated mode.
And, if you look hard enough online, you can find all the 3D content you desire!

But as with me, I own the movie legitimately, but could not find the 3D version. There ARE sites for 3D versions.
And, you do NOT need a 3D Blu-ray to view 3D movies. Simply load the 3D movie on USB and plug in to the TV.
To Note; I'm in Canada. Federal Laws here protect us Canadians from excessive charges or fines for those dummies that download illegally.

Anyhow, I'm HOPING when Summer Blockbuster Movies RETURN after Covid, that 3D presentation hasn't faded away!

They made a huge mistake by discontinuing 3D TVs, I have a LG smart cinema 3D TV from 4 years and People love it, there mind is blown ! They ask me where they could buy it but sadly LG does not make 3D TVs anymore. They need to come back with new design and huge marketing and I am sure this will be a huge success. I love my TV and will keep it forever to watch great 3D Movies!

I have had my LG 55 3D tv for years and I show off the tv at our house parties. People are blown away by the ability to turn normal tv into a pseudo-3D. Then I put a 3D movie in and they lose their minds. 3D should make a comeback.
