Brighton College Abu Dhabi is an outstanding British Curriculum school that opened its doors in September 2011 providing a range of facilities and learning environments for over 600 students. It is the first in a series of Brighton College ‘sister schools’ to be opened. By 2015, Brighton College Abu Dhabi will educate 1,200 pupils aged 3 to 18 in a state-of-the-art, 35,000m² campus located in the heart of the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. Pupils at Brighton College Abu Dhabi follow a Brighton College curriculum, working towards GCSE and A-Level studies. The College’s stated aim is to become the leading school in the Middle East. Abu Dhabi Planning Council introduced Estidama two years ago as the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Rating System. Brighton College wanted to meet with Estidama’s standards ahead of the mandatory date, as a school that exceptionally cares for the future of their students.
The major challenge for this project was to find an answer to the stipulated requirement that rooftop units remain out of sight, due to proximity with a military airport. Also, the work had to be completed in less than five months. consuming cooling unit
