Let's find out more.
The general remote control may not work in the following cases:
- Remote control battery is discharged
- Malfunction of the remote control signal transmitter
- Button malfunction (only some buttons do not work)
- Signal interference due to strong surrounding light (e.g., compact fluorescent lamps, some electronic ballasts)
Try this.
If the remote control battery is faulty
1. Check if the LED on the front of the remote control lights up when you press a button.
If the LED does not light up, replace both batteries in the remote control.
2. Open the back cover and replace the old batteries with new ones, then check if the TV operates.
If the remote control button or signal transmitter is faulty
1. Turn on the camera function of an Android phone and point the remote control at the camera lens.
2. While looking at the phone screen, repeatedly press the non-working button on the remote control.
- If only specific buttons do not emit light, the remote control may be faulty.
- If no buttons emit light, replace the batteries first.
Interference from compact fluorescent lamps or electronic ballasts
1. Turn off the fluorescent lamp and press the remote control button to check if it works.
LG Electronics' general TV remotes are usually compatible with each other, so if you have another remote, try
using it to check more quickly.
※ AI (Magic) remotes may not be compatible with each other. Please distinguish between general remote control
checks.
➔ If the remote control is left unused with the batteries installed for a long time, leakage may occur, causing remote control malfunction.
➔ Check if the standby light on the TV main unit is on. If it is not, the main unit may be faulty.
Press the power button on the TV main unit to check if it turns on. The location of the power standby light may vary by model.
➔ Some set-top box remotes use different communication methods, so the method of checking with a phone camera and the remote control's own lamp may not detect faults.
