[LG washing machine error codes] [Mini Washer] An FF error is displayed.

Troubleshooting

If cold weather persists, the water supply hose or the drain hose where water flows inside the Mini Washer may freeze.
In such cases, remove laundry from the Mini Washer and thaw any ice inside.

Causes and Symptoms

  • [FF] (Freeze Failure) is displayed on the display and Mini Washer operation is not available.

Try this

If the cover of the Mini Washer cannot be opened, thaw it with a towel soaked in hot water.

➔ When the ice melts and the cover is opened, check if the product operates normally.

Thawing ice on the Mini Washer drawer
1.Pull the Mini Washer drawer out to remove it, check if the cover can be opened.
If it cannot be opened, soak a towel in hot water, wrap the top of the cover in the towel and wait for 5 minutes.

2. When the ice melts, open the cover.
If there is laundry inside, remove it.
Warning!

If you forcibly open and close the drawer when the inside of the Mini Washer is frozen, a stain may form on the parts and may cause malfunction.

Does [FF] or [OE] appear on the display?

➔ Thaw the tub and the drain hose with hot water.

Thawing the tub and the drain hose
1. If there is laundry inside the Mini Washer, remove it.
2. Pour sufficient hot water at 50-60ºC into the tub.
At this time, the amount of water enough to submerge the tub wings in water is enough.
Next, close the cover and wait for 1 hour until the inside of the drain pump thaws.

3. Turn on the power, select [Small Volume Boil Wash] and press the [Start/Pause] button to see if the product operates normally.
4. If [IE] is displayed on the display again and water is not supplied to the tub, pour in enough hot water to submerge the tub wings in water and run the [Small Volume Boil Wash] course for 1 hour again.

5. Turn off the power and wait for 1 hour until the heat in the tub cools and the cover opens.
6. Open the drawer, turn on the power again, select [Rinse+Spin] and press the [Start/Pause] button to drain water from the tub completely.
7. At this time, if [OE] is displayed, it indicates that the inside of the drain hose is frozen.
Soak a towel in hot water and cover the frozen part of the drain hose with it to thaw the hose.

8. Now, all of the ice inside the Mini Washer has been removed.
Turn on the power and select [Rinse+Spin] to see if the washing machine operates normally.

Does an IE error appear or isn’t water supplied to the tub?

➔ Thaw the water supply hose and the faucet using hot water.

An [IE] (Water Inlet Error) error is displayed when the tub is not filled with water up to an appropriate water level.
If the water supply hose or the faucet is frozen so that water is not supplied to the washing machine, de-ice the water supply hose or the faucet as follows.

1. Separate the water supply hose from the Mini Washer and then turn on the faucet to see if water comes out.

2. If water does not come out, soak a towel in hot water and cover the faucet with it for 5 minutes to thaw the ice.

3. If the ice has melted, connect the water supply hose to the Mini Washer.
4. To remove ice from inside the tub, remove any laundry from inside the Mini Washer.
To remove ice from inside the tub and the drain hose of the Mini Washer, refer to the following.

If you forcibly open and close the drawer when the inside of the Mini Washer is frozen, a stain may form on the parts and may cause malfunction.

Managing the Mini Washer to avoid freezing
If you intend not to use the Mini Washer for a long period of time in cold weather, remove any water remaining inside the Mini Washer to prevent the Mini Washer from becoming frozen.
1. Turn off the faucet, separate the water supply hose from the Mini Washer and remove any water remaining inside the water supply hose.
2. Select [Rinse+Spin] and press the Add Rinse button 6 times.
When "9” is displayed on the display, press the [Start/Pause] button and spin for 1 minute.
Any water remaining inside the Mini Washer and in the drain hose should be removed.
3. Remove the power plug and open the drawer below the Mini Washer.
Open the cover of the hose for removing residual water and remove water completely.
Next, close the cover, insert the hose for removing residual water back into its original position and close the drawer.
