[LG Dryer] Dryer Drum Not Turning

Troubleshooting

Let's find out more.

If you open the door during operation, the drum will stop for safety reasons.
Additionally, if the laundry load is smaller than the dryer's capacity, the drying cycle may finish quickly.
An overloaded drum may not rotate and can cause malfunctions.
For optimal drying efficiency and energy savings, the drum should be about half full.

Try this.

Is the laundry load too small?

→ Add more laundry so the drum is about half full.

The clothes rotate inside the drum, touching the moisture sensor, which detects the moisture level of the laundry.
However, if the laundry load is too small, it may not touch the moisture sensor.
This can cause the dryer to skip to the air dry stage and end the cycle prematurely, making it seem as though the drum has stopped rotating.

Is the laundry load too large?

→ Remove some laundry from the dryer.

Clothes shrink in volume when wet in a washing machine, but they increase in volume as they dry in a dryer.
If the dryer is overloaded, the clothes will expand and overfill the drum.
When this happens, the clothes cannot tumble properly, and some items may remain damp at the end of the cycle.

Did you open the door during operation?

→ It's normal for the drum to pause if the door is opened during operation.

[Gas Dryers] If the door is open, with the interior light on and the Start/Pause button blinking, close the door and press the Start/Pause button.

[Electric Dryers] If the "dE" (Door Error) code appears and the Start/Pause button starts blinking, close the door and press Start/Pause.

Does the drum still not rotate even after emptying the drum and pressing Start/Pause?

→ Your unit may require service. Please schedule a service appointment.

If the drum rotates when you press Start/Pause again, the product is operating normally.
