Let's find out more.
If you are the only one feeling a shock, it is likely static electricity. Static electricity is more common in dry weather, and the sensation can vary from person to person. The feeling of a slight shock when touching the dryer case or handle during humid summer months or with soft skin is a minor electrical discharge.
Try this.
If others also feel a shock, check if the power outlet is grounded.
→ If the outlet doesn't have a ground pin, plug the dryer into a grounded outlet. If the outlet has a ground pin, try reversing the power cord.
If you still feel a shock even when the cord is properly inserted into a grounded outlet, request service.
The power cord must be firmly inserted. (Failure to ground the dryer may result in electric shock.)
For houses, contact your electricity provider.
