How to Use the Spin Only Cycle on Your LG Washer

Troubleshooting

If your laundry is still too wet after a wash, or you just want to spin excess water out of hand-washed items, you can run a Spin Only cycle. Here's how to set it up.

How to Use the Spin Only Cycle

Case 1: Models with a Dedicated Spin Button

1.Press the Power button to turn on the washer.

2.Press the Spin button on the right side of the control panel once. Press it repeatedly to select your desired spin speed (High, Medium, or Low).

3.Press the Start/Pause button to start the Spin Only cycle.

Case 2: Models with Spin Only Printed Below a Button

1.Press the Power button to turn on the washer.

2.Press and hold the button marked with an asterisk (*), such as Extra Rinse or Rinse+Spin, for at least 3 seconds.

3.Check that the wash and rinse times disappear from the display and only the spin time (e.g., 14 minutes) is shown.

4.Press the Start/Pause button to start the Spin Only cycle.

Case 3: Models Where You Select Spin Only from the Dial

1.Press the Power button to turn on the washer.

2.Turn the dial to Spin Only.

3.Press the Start/Pause button to start the Spin Only cycle.

Case 4. Still need help?

If you've tried the steps above and the problem persists, you can get more support through AI Chat in the bottom right corner of the LG website, or by requesting a technician visit.

FAQ

Q. The displayed spin time (for example, 18 minutes) seems too long. Can I shorten it?
A. The displayed time includes a balancing step where the drum rotates slowly to detect the load size and untangle your laundry. This prevents heavy vibration if the items are unevenly distributed. The actual high-speed spin is much shorter, so allow the cycle to finish.
Q. Why Does the Washer Only Beep and Not Start when I Press the Spin Button?
A. The displayed time includes a balancing step where the drum rotates slowly to detect the load size and untangle your laundry. This prevents heavy vibration if the items are unevenly distributed. The actual high-speed spin is much shorter, so please allow the cycle to finish.
