Unresponsive “Power”, “Tray Open” and ‘Volume” buttons on unit

To avoid others from playing around with unsupervised Audio main unit, there is a Power/Disc Lock option similar to Child Lock on many electronic devices and appliances. Following are the steps to either enable or disable this lock feature on good number of audio systems.

Cause and Symptoms

When “Power Key/Disc Open Key/Volume Key” are pressed they do not work.

This occurs when the product is locked by Hidden Key (Hidden Key : Power Disc Lock works when button “Front STOP + Front Open” is pressed).

Note Check if you can see the words “LOCKED” in display window when pressing “POWER”, “TRAY OPEN” or VOLUME buttons.

Try this

  1. SET Power On from remote controller if unit not powered on.

  2. Press & hold button combination (STOP button on SET + OPEN button on SET together) for 5sec.


    (or STOP button on SET + SOUND EFFECT button on remote controller – pending model)
    (or STOP button on SET + REGION EQ button on remote controller – pending model)

    Stop button + Open button
  3. Confirm operation was successful when “UNLOCKED” appears in the display window.
