Black screen [notebook]
If there is a problem with the notebook computer’s LCD display back light or a corrupted graphics driver, the display screen goes black.

Cause and Symptoms
- The laptop is running but the screen is black
- The laptop is powered up, but the screen is inactive (turned off)

Try pressing Ctrl + Shift + Windows + B simultaneously on the notebook keyboard to reset the display mode. If
there is no response first time around, please try several times. If you still can't resolve the issue after
several attempts, move on to below troubleshooting steps.
If you can power on the notebook computer but the screen displays nothing at all, or the screen is frozen during
booting, then reset the power.
Models with a built-in battery
- Remove the power supply adapter.
- Press and hold down the power button for more than 10 seconds then release.
- Press the power button to turn on the power.
※ If the screen still display nothing at all after power reset, then you need to have the notebook computer checked by an LG Electronics service technician.
Models featuring a separate battery
- Remove the power supply adapter.
- Remove the battery and turn on the power after about 30 seconds after reinserting the
battery.
