LG Electronics announced plans to accelerate growth across emerging markets at LG InnoFest 2026 MEA, held in Abu Dhabi from February 3rd to 6th. The event brought together over 250 B2B and B2C partners, distributors and media representatives from the Middle East and Africa.
Held under the theme “Innovation, Forward Together,” the event provided a platform for LG to share its strategic direction and reinforce its commitment to expanding smart home technology and AI-powered solutions in the MEA region, while also strengthening its broader presence across other emerging markets.
Reinforcing the company’s Africa-focused ambitions, LG leadership emphasised the central role of connectivity and artificial intelligence in its regional expansion strategy.
“At LG, connectivity and AI are central to our strategy as we continue expanding across Africa,” said Donghun Lee, President of LG Electronics East Africa. “We are focused on demonstrating how seamlessly our products integrate into everyday life through smart solutions that enhance efficiency, save energy and water, and simplify daily tasks. We do not see our offerings simply as appliances, but as intelligent solutions designed to improve quality of life through meaningful innovation.”
At the heart of the showcase was LG’s growing ecosystem of AI-powered home appliances designed to improve convenience and efficiency. Featured solutions included washing machines and dryers equipped with AI DD™ and AI Wash/AI Dry capabilities that adapt cycles based on fabric type, load size, and soiling level; refrigerators that adjust temperature settings according to usage patterns; and smart air conditioners that automatically respond to real-time environmental conditions.
In the home entertainment category, LG presented its premium OLED and UHD TV lineup with advanced smart capabilities and the latest webOS platform integration, including the ultra-thin Wallpaper OLED TV with True Wireless technology. Powered by AI and the webOS platform, these televisions deliver superior picture and sound quality, along with personalised content experiences.
Commercial solutions on display included next-generation HVAC systems and laundry technologies designed for business, hospitality, and large-scale facilities.
These AI-driven innovations reflect LG’s long-term vision of building a seamless smart home ecosystem that adapts to user lifestyles. Central to this vision is the concept of the “Zero Labor Home,” where intelligent automation reduces the burden of routine household tasks, allowing consumers to focus more on meaningful activities.
Energy efficiency was a key focus at the exhibition. Select laundry and cooling solutions combine inverter technology with AI optimisation to reduce utility consumption while maintaining performance, helping households manage electricity and water use, especially in markets with infrastructure challenges.
LG emphasised that its product development approach is grounded in local market insights. Appliances showcased at InnoFest 2026 were engineered to operate reliably under varied power conditions, high ambient temperatures, and heavy usage patterns common across many African markets.
Beyond product innovation, LG confirmed plans to broaden its MEA portfolio with additional mid- and entry-level offerings to reach a broader range of consumers. New introductions are expected to include top freezers, chest freezers, and twin-tub washing machines, alongside expanded built-in kitchen appliances designed to support diverse households across the region.
LG also reaffirmed its commitment to localised service enhancement under its “Our Promise” initiative, which adapts after-sales programs to the needs and expectations of individual markets.
“LG Innofest 2026 MEA provided an opportunity to share how we are approaching innovation and growth in this region,” said Phil Jung, Region Representative, LG Electronics Middle East and Africa. “By combining AI-enabled technologies with a deeper understanding of local needs, we aim to deliver solutions that are practical, relevant, and valuable for consumers across the MEA region.”
Through continued investment in product development, local partnerships, and service infrastructure, LG aims to accelerate its expansion across the MEA region while positioning itself as a trusted premium brand in the evolving smart home and consumer electronics landscape.
