If the screen on your LG TV looks dark or dim, it is usually because [Energy Saving] is turned on or [Picture Mode] is not set correctly.
Use the remote to set [Energy Saving Step] to [Off], then change [Picture Mode] to [Standard] to resolve this.
If changing these settings does not resolve the issue, try resetting the picture settings.
Why is the TV screen dark or dim?
1. Power saving is turned on
[Picture Mode] is set to [Eco] or [Auto Power Save].
2. Energy Saving is enabled
[Energy Saving Step] is set to [Auto] or [Maximum].
3. Loose external cable connection
The HDMI cable or antenna connection is loose.
4. TV Hardware Issues
There may be an issue with the TV itself.

FAQ
- Q. Why is only one channel dim?
- A. This may happen if the broadcast signal quality for that channel is low or if the antenna is not aligned properly. Check if other channels are clear.
- Q. Why does part of the screen appear black and white, dark, or pixelated during certain scenes?
- A. Some broadcasters may apply a black-and-white filter, darken, or pixelate scenes that may not be suitable for all viewers, such as those showing violence, smoking, or weapons. This is normal. The picture will return to normal after the scene ends.
- Q. Why is the screen blurry for the first few minutes after I turn on the TV, then becomes clearer?
- A. This may indicate an issue with internal TV components, such as a problem warming up. Contact LG Customer Support for assistance.
- Q. What should I do if the screen is too dark to read the TV settings menu, or if only part of the screen is dark?
- A. If the screen is so dark that you cannot read the TV menu, or if only part of the screen appears dark, there may be an internal issue with the TV. Contact LG Customer Support for assistance.
