Drying time extended [dryer]

Troubleshooting

Does the remaining drying time increase in the panel display window?

Standalone electric dryers determine whether laundry load is sufficiently dry or not when attaining 11 minutes remaining on panel display window.
If the load is determined to be insufficiently dry, the appliance adds an extra 10-minute drying time to continue the process.
Gas dryers, on the other hand, will make that determination at the 6-minute mark.
This is a completely natural process in order for the appliance to execute for a thorough drying of the load.
Also, when the drying is completed and [Wrinkle Care] selected option is in progress, it may appear as if the dryer is running even after the timer has stopped.

Note This article addresses “Cycle Time Stuck” as it pertains to laundry washing machine. Customers noticing Cycle Time Stuck at 11 minutes on the dryers are invited to consult the article addressing that specific topic titled “Drying time extended [dryer]” by clicking that title link.

Try this

Is the [Wrinkle Care] indicator light on the control panel turned on?

➔ When dotted line symbols in circular motion appear in the dryer's display window, press the [Power] button to end the operation.

If [End] indication and dotted line symbols in circular motion appear alternating in the dryer’s display window as shown below, it signifies that [Wrinkle Care] option is in progress.
As the drying cycle has already been completed, press the [Power] button to end the operation. If applicable to your model (usually a front load washer feature), wait for the [Door Locked] icon indicator light on the control panel to turn itself off before opening the dryer door and removing the load.

Does the remaining drying time continue to increase?

➔ This may be due to having selected an inappropriate drying cycle for the load or there could be some foreign substances stuck to the humidity sensor preventing it from accurately measuring.

Reasons for extended drying time may vary.
The filter may be clogged, which can block proper air circulation, or the thickness of the laundry items may vary, making it harder for the humidity sensor to determine the level of dryness.
A drying cycle unsuitable for the load may have been selected.
Room low temperature surrounding the dryer may mean longer times for preheating therefore increasing the drying times.
