[LG Air Conditioner Cleaning] How can I clean the inside of the air conditioner?

Cautions for cleaning wall-mounted air-conditioner filter

How to remove the filter of the wall-mounted air conditioners varies among models.
Check the filter type of the model that you are using.


➔ Type A [Front location of filter] – Water washing allowed for ultra-fine filter only

1. Slide the air conditioner cover up and remove the ultra-fine filter.

2. Remove the filter, and then remove dusts from the filter with soft brush in flowing water or with vacuum cleaner.
If it is severely contaminated, wash it with water using a neutral detergent and rinse it thoroughly with clean water. (Do not use hot water of over 40℃(104°F).)

3. When drying the filter, dry it thoroughly in the well-ventilated shade.

※ Applicable functions may vary among models.
It is not allowed of washing special filters such as deodorizing filter and TVF (anti-allergy or -virus filters) filter with water. The filters should be replaced upon regular basis.


➔ Type B [Top location of filter] – Water washing allowed for ultra-fine filter only

1. Push the air conditioner cover up and remove the ultra-fine filter.

2. Remove the filter, and then remove dusts from the filter with soft brush in flowing water or with vacuum cleaner. If it is severely contaminated, wash it in water using a neutral detergent and rinse it thoroughly with water. (Do not use hot water over 40℃(104°F).)

3. Fully dry the filter in well-ventilated and shaded place.

※ The functions of the dust collecting filters (super-fine plus filter) may vary among models.
It is not allowed of washing special filters such as ultra-fine filter (super-fine dust filter) and dust collecting filter (super-fine plus filters) filter with water. The filters should be replaced upon regular basis.

A type is a method to remove the filter by lifting the cover up, and type B is a method to remove the filter by lifting the top cover up.

<h class="sub-tit">Cleaning the inside of the air conditioner [heat exchanger]</h>

1. After removing the filter by referring to instructions on how to separate the filter, dilute citric acid in the ratio of water (1000 ㎖)(35oz) and citric acid (3g)(0.1oz) and spray the diluted citric acid properly on the indoor heat exchanger.

2. Next, set the minimum temperature (18°C)(64.4°F) for the cooling operation and operate the air conditioner for 30 minutes or longer.

3. Particles causing odors that are inside the product are discharged out of the product in order to reduce odor.

Water (1000㎖)(35oz) : Mix citric acid (3g)(0.1oz) in a certain ratio, remove the filter with a spray, and then spray it on the air conditioner

※ Do not use air conditioner cleaning agent, cleaning solution, or fragrant deodorant from the markets.
Failure to do so may damage the product or worsen the odor.
