Why doesn’t the odor level change even when the air purifier smells?

Troubleshooting

If you notice an odor from the air purifier but the odor level indicator does not change, it may be due to certain substances the sensor cannot detect.
Test the odor sensor to make sure it is working properly.

Important

  • If the odor level still does not change after testing, the unit may need an inspection by a qualified service technician.

Why doesn’t the odor level change even when the odor sensor is working properly?

The human nose can detect hundreds of thousands of odors, but the odor sensor only responds to specific gases like carbon monoxide, propane, and ammonia.
As a result, the odor sensor may not detect certain substances that do not react with oxygen, such as food odors, so the odor level on the indicator may not change.

How can I check if the odor sensor is working properly?

  1. 1. Apply a small amount of perfume, vinegar, or air freshener to a tissue and hold it near the odor sensor.
  2. 2. If the odor level indicator on the control panel changes color, the sensor is working properly.
