Freezer Defrost Fault (dH / FdH / dHF) (LEDs lit at -15°C, -17°C, -18°C, and -20°C)
This error indicates a malfunction in the defrost system, likely caused by ice buildup, a blown thermal fuse, heater failure, or a main board (PCB) issue.
The error code displays if the unit fails to detect the expected temperature change within a set time after the defrost cycle begins.※ Please request service for an accurate diagnosis.
Freezer Fan Motor Error (FF) (LEDs lit at 7°C, 3°C, 2°C, and 1°C)
This error indicates an issue with the freezer fan motor. It can also occur if ice buildup blocks the fan.
Unplug the unit and leave the doors open for at least 8 hours to clear the ice buildup.
If you are concerned about food spoilage during this process, we recommend scheduling a service for an accurate diagnosis.
Try this
1. Transfer your food to a backup refrigerator or cooler if available.
2. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
3. Leave both the freezer and refrigerator doors completely open for at least 8 hours to allow the ice to melt.
4. Use dry towels to wipe up any water inside or around the unit after the ice melts.
5. Plug the unit back in. It may take 24 to 48 hours for the refrigerator to return to optimal cooling temperatures.

Condenser Fan Motor Error (CF) (LEDs lit at 5°C, 3°C, 2°C, and 1°C)
This error indicates a malfunction in the fan motor located in the sealed system at the rear of the refrigerator, which helps release heat from the compressor.
The display will show error code "C" or "E CF" (fan motor issue in the sealed system).
This usually happens when the fan motor fails, but it can also be caused by disconnected wiring or a problem with the main board.※ If the error persists after these steps, please schedule a service appointment for a professional diagnosis.
Cycle Error (LEDs lit at -15°C, -18°C, and -23°C)
A cycle error may cause poor cooling. This error code indicates that inspection is required.

Demo Mode
Your LG refrigerator is equipped with a DEMO MODE or DISPLAY MODE. This feature disables all cooling in the refrigerator and freezer sections to conserve energy while on display in a retail store. When DEMO MODE is activated, OF F will appear on the control panel.

To disable DEMO/DISPLAY MODE: With either refrigerator door opened, press and hold the REFRIGERATOR and ICE PLUS buttons at the same time for five seconds.

After holding the buttons for five seconds, the control panel will beep, and the temperature settings will display to confirm that DEMO MODE is deactivated.
EID Error Code
An EID error code indicates a freezer compartment ice maker sensor failure.

CH E or E CH error codes indicates that there is a high side refrigerant leak.
CH (High side cycle leakage) has a high possibility of being refrigerant leakage from the condenser.

CL E Error Code
A CL E or E CL error code indicates that there is a low side refrigerant leak.
CL (Low side cycle leakage) has a high possibility of being refrigerant leakage from the evaporator.

IS or 1S Error Code
IS or 15 error code indicates a problem with the ice maker fan motor or a disconnection of the icemaker sensor.

A 22 error code indicates a problem with compressor relay.

A 67 error code indicates a problem with a gap in the door or an object inside the fridge restricting the door from closing properly.

A CO error code on the display of the refrigerator indicates a communication error between the control board and the display.

dH Error Code
A dH error code can display in three variations depending on the model of your unit.
A dH error code indicates that the unit spent more than 1 hour trying to defrost. During defrost; the unit will increase the temperature at the evaporator to a preset temperature. If this temperature is not reached within 1 hour, the dH error code will display.
How to resolve:
- Unplug the refrigerator for 2 minutes to reset the unit.
- Allow the system to defrost again.

dS Error Code
A dS error code indicates a short or disconnection of the defrosting sensor.
This error can display in three variations depending on the model of your unit.
- F dS indicates a problem with the freezer defrost sensor.
- r dS indicates a problem with the refrigerator defrost sensor.
For these error codes, unfortunately there is no troubleshooting that can be performed. The unit will require a repair service, request a repair with our 24/7 Chat Support.
FF Error Code
A FF error code indicates that the unit has detected an issue with the freezer fan. This can sometimes be caused by frost buildup.
How to Manually Defrost Your Refrigerator
- Unplug the unit and remove all food and ice from the ice bin.
- Leave the doors open and wait at least 8 HOURS for the refrigerator to defrost.
- Make sure to keep towels in and around the unit to soak up any excess water after the frost melts.
- After 8 hours have passed, use a dry towel to remove any moisture that may be left inside the refrigerator and freezer.
- Plug the unit back in, wait 24-48 hours for the refrigerator to return to normal operation.
- Make sure the vents inside the refrigerator are not blocked, the refrigerator and doors are properly leveled, and the refrigerator and freezer doors are closed completely.
- After the unit has automatically or manually defrosted, follow the steps below to prevent future frost buildup issues.

FS Error Code
A FS error code indicates a short or disconnection of the freezer sensor.

gF Error Code
A gF error code indicates a flow sensor error, or low water pressure.
If your ice maker is overfilling with water, the flow sensor that determines how much water is flowing to the ice maker may be malfunctioning.
If the water pressure is low, partially increase the water pressure. If the error persists, the unit will require a repair service. Request a repair with our 24/7 Chat Support.
iT Error Code
An It error code indicates a defect in the icemaker.

rF Error Code
A rF error code indicates an abnormality in the refrigerator's fan motor. This may be due to frost buildup.
How to manually defrost your refrigerator

Od indicates a WIFI Modem or communication error between the micom of the LCD display and the WiFi modem.

Sb Error Code (Sabath Mode)
This error code may look like Sb, S6, 5b,or 56 on the screen. Sb typically means Sabath mode which is used on the Jewish Sabath and holidays.
To turn off sabath mode manually, press and hold the Freezer and Wifi buttons for 3 seconds.
To turn Sabath mode on, touch the display to activate it, then press and hold the Freezer and Wi-Fi buttons for 3 seconfs until Sb appears on the display.
Sabath mode automatically turns off after 96 hours. Selecting the sabath mode automatically turns off the alarm functions and the dispenser is also disabled.
HS Error Code
A HS error code indicates a short or disconnection of humidity.

IF or F1 Error Code
The IF or F1 error code indicates that the refrigerator has detected a problem with the refrigerator's ice maker fan. This can sometimes occur when frost or ice buildup occurs around the ice maker fan.
