Champions of mental wellness

Coaches play a vital role in student-athletes' lives, on and off the field. That is why, as a proud partner of the NCAA, we created the LG Life's Good Coaches Award to recognize leaders who champion mental health and well-being alongside performance, with nominations coming directly from their student-athletes.

In 2025, we welcomed two new coaches to our Ring of Honor, Coach Samantha Erger of SMU and Coach Luke Strand of Minnesota State University, Mankato, for leading with integrity and care. This year, we will once again honor two NCAA coaches, one from a men's program and one from a women's program. As before, NCAA student-athletes will nominate the coaches who inspire, uplift and prioritize mental wellness.

Samantha Erger - 2025 Winner

Since 2022, Erger has transformed SMU Volleyball into a national contender, earning AVCA Southwest Region and AAC Coach of the Year honors while leading the Mustangs to record-breaking seasons and back-to-back NCAA appearances.

Luke Strand - 2025 Winner

In his first season, Strand led the Mavericks to an 18-15-4 record and a Mason Cup Playoff run, earning finalist honors for CCHA Coach of the Year. A former pro player, he's dedicated to developing the next generation of hockey talent.

Yasmin Farooq - 2024 Winner

A two-time Olympian and world champion, Farooq has led Washington Women's Rowing to historic NCAA sweeps and multiple Coach of the Year honors. A Hall of Fame inductee, she continues to set the standard in collegiate rowing.

David Lynn - 2024 Winner

Now in his 14th season, Lynn has led Oklahoma Christian Men's Golf to three straight NCAA Division II Semifinal appearances and multiple Coach of the Year honors, producing numerous All-Americans and All-Conference players along the way.
