Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product Was considering whole house AC. This area in Calif allowed me to consider portable units. After researching settled on the LG product. Had no problems and am happy with my decision.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unit cools -- expells 1 gallon of h2o per hour Purchased unit from Groupon was shipped with a broken water discharge connector. This connector is necessary as the unit puts out more than a gallon of gray water per hour. I had to pay for another connector and with a five gallon water bottle (that I paid for) the unit works well. Without the connector, I was on my knees every half hour draining the unit. With the hose and water bottle to collect the discharged water the unit works for us. Note: Groupon did offer a credit towards the purchase of the replacement connector and hose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Air Conditionet I bought my LG Portable Air Conditioner four months ago and I love it. I didn't want to put a window unit in my new windows so I tried this instead and I'm so glad I did. It was so easy to install. I tell all of my friends about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great and economical. I bought this in August 2015 for my garage that I insulated and converted to a "man cave". Kept the garage door, but insulated it. I didn't use the window vent - I bought a vent assembly and cut hole in the wall. I also wrapped the vent house with insulation. it cools great and I like that I can set temperature and it shuts off and back on just like a home unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice A/C I bought this A/C in July because Cali is having unusually hot weather. I only use it in the living room though because it is very loud. I dont mind the noise. It also does shoot out very cold air which is why I got it in the first place. It does cool down the area intended w/out any problems. I just wish it could do the whole house. Good investment for me.

Move water from the air condition

Asked by: DLuisdfh
When the internal water collection tank is full, the FL message will appear in the display and the air conditioner will turn off until the tank is emptied. According to page 23 of the owner’s manual, remove the water plug on the back of the machine. This should be located next to the exhaust duct. Install the end point of the drain pipe to the port, and put the other end of the pipe into a bucket. Press the TIMER and DOWN buttons simultaneously to activate the drain pump inside the machine. This should run for about 3 minutes. Additional instructions can be located on page 23 of the manual.

Was cooling and blowing COLD air... Next day it still blows but no where near cold air ? Does this model need a freon recharge ? If so how do I recharge the freon?

I have a ryobi 2200 peak operate at 1800 and my lg 14000 BTU AC fan will blow but the compressor kick on it will try to and as the generator idles up for the load the compressor kicks off before the generator reaches require d 1350 Watts . How do I make

Asked by: jackie127
The description you have given for when the compressor in the LG 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner Cooling, Model # LP1415GXR indicates that your generator is undersized which is why it is behaving that way when the compressor kicks on. Typically when deciding on the right sized generator, if you have other devices running off the generator, you would need to add up all their wattage requirements and multiply the total wattage by two to determine the wattage necessary to start up equipment with motors. Start-up requirements may be as high as three to four times the running requirements. Portable generators offer higher surge wattage to help accommodate start-up requirements. You will find the wattage for the motor on the nameplate attached to the unit...^IFV

Is there a piece of Styrofoam located under plastic front grill that needs to be removed before operating unit? It appears that it may obstruct air flow.

Asked by: Ronnie1
We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner. There should not be any Styrofoam in the air discharge vent. The adjustable louvered air discharge opens automatically when the air conditioner is turned on, and closes when it is deactivated.

How do I remove filters for cleaning?

Asked by: Mike6
The air filter should be cleaned at least every 2 weeks; depending on the indoor air quality, a more frequent cleaning may be needed. Do not operate the air conditioner without the filters in place. Grasp the grip, which is in the top-center of the upper filter, and on the top-center of the bottom filter, and pull them out of their housings. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the filter. If the filter is heavily soiled, it can be washed in warm water using a mild detergent. Do not use harsh cleaners or very hot water. Do not wash the filters in a dishwasher. Allow both filters to dry completely before reinstalling. This information can all be found on page 22 of your owner’s manual.
