What People Are Saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2nd Unit, First Unit Bad Bought 1st unit in 2005 ... outside fan spun on shaft within 30 days. Bad fan caused internal compressor overheat to engage. Unit repaired, no cost, under warranty ... but the damage was done to compressor. Compressor overheat protection engaged when outside tempature was over 95 degrees. LG would not replace unit. Recently replaced 1st unit with 2nd exact unit after 7 years service because of compressor overheat issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful replacement & Quality value I had to replace our previous AC because of a fire. I shopped and could find very little from the competition to compare with the features, value and quality of this one. It also had several bonuses, Energy saver, Timer, Heater & a remote. I live in the High desert near Joshua tree CA. We can typically do well with cooling by a evaporative cooler. How ever that changes dramatically when the Monsoon season hits with its high humidity. This unit does very well with the help of some fans to cool our 1400 sf living area. Its going to be nice to have the heater in that room this winter. We are very happy with its performance. We have solar, and I'm constantly monitoring our consumption of electricity, and I am very please in this regard as well, because I see a 28% difference. My only thing as is all wall units from whom ever manufactures these is the noise, which this unit is substantially less than our previous unit inside but is just as loud outside. Home depot made the sale very easy and delivered it to our door in the country.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from spits water always This is my second one. They replaced the first one after two weeks without air. The second one showed up and it was frezzing. the company they sent is no good. They have to take the air with them and never call you back. They said there was nothing they could do unless they saw it iced up. So now it is summer and the air is no good and I'll have to pay a GOOD company to try to fix this peice of junk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm out...It's right on!! Enclosed my deck. Spend much time out here..Installed this unit and am so glad I did! Cools very well, 4 way directional option is very good. By having both ac and heat we now can use this deck as an extended living area 24/7/365.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Unit Live in a large double-wide mobile home in Florida - central unit just didn't do the job - bought this unit to put in living room - Does a great job! Room is cooler - electric bill is lower - not too loud. Now the summers are comfortable and really gets cool in large living/room den combo. One of the smartest buys yet - looking forward to being warmer in the winter also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great A/C I have used this A/C all summer long and it is relatively quiet and does a great job of cooling my kitchen and den. The main A/C went out mid-summer and surprisingly it kept the 2330 sq ft home I have at a temp that was quite bearable. I could actually sleep at night. i just wish the oscillating portion had a wider swing to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great unit Works great, had trouble with the heat right away but they sent someone out to fix it the next day. It's been great ever since...two years now. The only negative thing I would say is the fan on both speeds is very loud...small price to pay for excellent cooling and heating though imho.

LW2410HR does the heater have a thermostat ? Holds heat

Does this unit holds heat temp in the room or do you have to do it manual ? It runs and runs. Never shuts down on its own ... How do I set it
Asked by: Mandy2244
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner/heater unit. According to the descriptions on page 16 of the owner’s manual, it appears that the heater does not operate with the thermostat. The COOL mode runs to reach the desired temperature. It uses the thermostat to make such a determination. The HEAT mode states that the heater runs and heats the room. No thermostat is involved in this.

LW2410HR - Thru the Wall

I have an existing hole of 26W x 17.5"H. Will this fit. I see a fin on top. Does that come off? Can I install this as a Thru the Wall unit? I don't need a heater but this one seems to have dimensions that fit. If this cannot be a thru the wall unit, what A/C only unit do you recommend for my space. I would like 20,000 or more BTU. Cooling approx 1400 sq/ft

heat from cool

does the compreesor run continually while heat is on?are is it suppose to run continually and not work on energy saver
Asked by: mike
This unit uses an electric heater. As such, the compressor should not be running unless the unit is in the COOL mode. However, the fan will be running constantly to circulate the air through the electric heating elements.

I was asking about the heat part on the unit. The air is cold, it keeps running and doesn't kick off completely.

does lg make a unit that kicks off? the air is cold when it keeps running after it goes off.

Asked by: iris
The compressor shuts off when the desired air temperature has been reached. All that is left running is the circulating fan. The ENERGY SAVER mode will turn off the fan when the compressor is deactivated.
