The total time of actual use has to be less than 1 hour. I can't find my receipt (that's my fault) so I can't speak to the quality of customer service, but obviously I can't give a high rating to a product that dies with less than 1 hour of use.

Same bad disks had trouble playing or flat out would not play in a nearly new LG 12.7mm BD rewriter. Bought this BE14NU40 Writer because of the "Jamless Play" that let's it play thru fingerprints or bad / scratched sectors - This unit played 2 BDs that both my existing units did not recognize or would recognize then fail to play - and if you wamt a noisy writer/player - look at other units, this thing is morgue quiet. I would not hesitate to buy this unit again

Does this burner work with Mac OSX?

I have this LG Super Multi Blue External USB 3.0 14x Blu-ray Disc Rewriter, Model # BE14NU40, and using it on my Macbook Pro Retina using Mac OS X El Capitan it is working fine, without any drivers need to be installed.

I'm trying to update the firmware in this drive with windows 10. The update program will not run. I tried to get the program to run on several different computers but it will not run on any of them. Please help

That link goes to nowhere, a blank MS page. Win10 updated today and now does not read my external LG, I was going to update from the firmware on your site, nothing for windows10, I think I am not the only one running win10 at this time, you do have win7, and possible 95 as well though. So, no firmware updates? Will the disc that came with it work, the one with the way outdated cyberlink bloat included? I loved this burner, until this morning. Hoping just a glitch, b/c I have had zero issues since mid Dec, this is the first, and it occurred when MS10 required a restart for todays update. ANy help?

This item arrived today with a disc cracked down the middle and is unusable. How do I obtain the software that came with the damaged disc and will it operate as intended without it?

Why do I get a message saying: the last usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows does not recongize it.

Actually, I have the same issue. Works fine on my older Dell Studio XPS when running Ubuntu, but not in Windows 10. Getting this same message there, and also on my Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10. I will try calling support during business hours, but honestly it looks like the drive is not compatible... may have to send it back.

Is there a specific way to eject the burner itself? The burner tray opens everytime I click eject from the devices and printers menu.
