What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install and easy to use This unit was a breeze to install. It's one of the shortest induction cook tops made which made it easy to install in a pre-existing cut-out. Instructions are clear and easy to operate. Faster than gas when it comes to heating. Great value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Induction good. Touch not so much Clearly induction is better. Induction is new and currently overpriced. I had difficulty finding quality cookware that would work (having to replace everything I had). With my best pan I can bring water to boil, remove the pan and the surface is not too hot to touch (awesome). When I turn it off, the heat is INSTANTLY stopped (amazing). The included pan is a nice bonus. con-My only complaint is the sensitivity of the touch controls. There have been times I put my finger on a button and nothing happens, yet I've had water boil over and cause the entire surface to go nuts...lights start blinking, letters flashing. Causing me to turn the whole thing off to reset and start completely over turning the elements back where they were.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than Gas! I had been looking for an induction cook top for such a long time, and finally found one with the feature I wanted: the induction bridge element. According to my serial number, I have the 37th unit ever made. I had to wait a long time after my purchase for the unit to ship--online shopping allowed me to buy it before it was actually in production, but that was a unique problem. Now that the unit is in production they are quickly available. This unit is beautifully designed, so sleek and modern looking. My friends all marvel at induction (magic) and the look of this unit (cool). Liquid spills can quickly freak out the touch-controls and force you to reset the device once you've mopped up the spill. It's got great power and easy to see and use heating zones. Lots of cooking options for a 30" top with four elements. The one minus: bridge element is misleading. It is not truly a "rectangular" heat zone, it is simply simultaneous control of the two right zones as a single entity (two circles of heating power) rather than two circles with a "bridge" zone linking the two. As long as you know this, and don't expect completely uniform cooking on the entire griddle surface, you'll be fine. As this is an induction, the surfaces stay clean (even with spills): the cook top doesn't heat up, just the pot/pan. so the cook top remains cooler and food doesn't burn on. The controls are instant and easy to fine tune. This cook top is amazing for everything for high-heat wok cooking (w/ flat bottom wok) to braising of meats and slow cooking. I love this cook top!

If the unit is 2 3/16 high and requires that nothing be closer than 2 3/4 from the bottom, the effective height is nearly 5", is that correct?

Asked by: Grub
That would be one way of looking at it. If you are adding the height of the LG 30" Electric Induction Cooktop, Model # LCE30845 to the required clearance between the cooktop and the oven then 2 3/26" + 2 3/4" adds up to 4 15/16" which if rounded off to the nearest whole number is 5...^IFV

My LG 30845 sounds a series of beeps repeatedly with no error codes showing.

I'm able to turn the cook top on and cook food. There is a small crack at the upper right corner of the ceramic top but not near the "burner". The manual does not address the beeping without error codes appearing.

If there is a chip on edge of stovetop, can it be repaired?

Asked by: Happystoveuser
While it is possible to repair a damaged cooktop surface, it will require the replacement of the entire surface. Along with this, a chip on the edge is a cosmetic matter that would not be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

How can I get the retainer brackets and bolts shown in the installation guide of my LCE30845 cooktop?

I bought a floor model of this cooktop and it came with nothing other than the cooktop. To properly mount this cooktop I need these brackets but looking online for parts for the cooktop I don't find them in the parts breakdown. Where can I get them?

Griddle pan accessory unavailable.

We were unable to locate the griddle pan using the three websites previously given. Is there perhaps a part number that we could try to search for it? Looking under the list of parts for the LCE30845 did not work. Nor did searching under griddle pan.

would it be ok to try the 30" induction cooktop on a 30 amp cicuit and see if it trips during normal cooking?

Asked by: mncook
This unit can consume up to 7,400W at 240VAC. A 40 Amp circuit breaker with wire gauge #8 AWG must be used. We cannot provide recommendations for any other connection method.

Recognising induction cookware

Hi there. One of my hotplates is not recognising my induction cookware anymore - it simply thinks there is nothing on it so after 20 sec it beeps and then turns itself off. It was working fine in the past and the other hotplates still work fine. Is there a way to turn off the safety mechanism that automatically turns off the hotplate so this problem can be fixed? Is this a common problem?
Asked by: Chris
