Rated 5 out of 5 by from Five Star Appliance I needed a new microwave when we moved into our new house. I did a lot of research on all of the brands. I first thought about getting a microwave/convection oven but none of them had the cubic foot I was looking for and the reviews were so mixed I was afraid I was going to be one of the dissatisfied purchasers. I knew that the microwave I chose had to be the ONE. It had to last, it had to work for everything I needed it for and have a little bit of new technology too (I'm a little bit of a tech geek). I read several reviews about this microwave and decided to go take a look at it in the store. Once I looked at it in the store I knew it was the one. While I haven't used all of the features on this microwave yet what I have used is easy and efficient. I am still waiting to purchase something that has the TrueCook code, but I do a lot of actual cooking and not that much frozen heating up type of cooking so it may be a while before I get to use that technology. I really like the melt feature, it has proven very useful several times. The stainless look is easy to clean. Fingerprints wipe right off. I haven't had to clean the inside yet but I'm sure it will be easier than any other microwave because of the curve in the rear of the oven. It is always a pain to try to clean a microwave without things getting stuck in the angles in the back, but the curve on this one should really eliminate that issue. At this point (2 months of ownership) I am very happy with the microwave and would have made the same choice now after having used it as I did when I purchased the microwave.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Microwave, Love the Interior Size Bought this to replace our 13 yr. old 2.2 cu. Ft. microwave that started acting up (different brand). We have now had this one for a little over a month. Works great, love the 16” platter size (same as our old one), a big plus, as it allows room for a dinner plate and small bowl at the same time, or other container combinations, a big convenience in reheating a meal. The larger exterior size is worth the interior space. You would notice a 1.1 Cu. Ft. microwave on your counter anyway. Microwave is quite quiet when running. The rounded rear interior corners are a nice practical design feature. Those eliminate 2 corners making cleaning easier. The dark interior is different and takes some getting used to after seeing white/cream interior for 20+ years. But it does look nice. When cooking time is complete the beeper continues to beep every minute or so if you do not push the Stop button or open the door. That is a nice feature, so that you don’t forget you had food in the microwave if you did not hear the initial beeping. The one thing we don’t really like is that the control panel does not have a lot of contrast (white outlines) to easily see the specific buttons, as our old one did. It’s a little difficult to input in dimmer light. It makes the front panel look more solid black when you look at it, a plus I guess, but you still know it’s a microwave sitting on you counter. Can’t say anything about durability / life span, but hope it lasts at least the 13 years our old one did. Too many items today are being made as Disposable – why make them last too long.

Should display be backlit?

My display is hard to read - grey labels on a dark background. Is it supposed to be backlit? Are the labels supposed to be brighter? My model is only about 5 months old and has always been hard to read.
Asked by: Julie97405
No, to my knowledge the control panel is not backlit, which is one of the unfortunate 'flaws' in the design of this product.

Are there fuses for this microwave?

There is no power when it is plugged in. I've checked the circuit breakers and GFI's and I've checked the outlet for power. All are good. The display is dead, no interior light, nothing. It used to work in this location. It started making load noises sometimes when cooking before going totally dead. Is there a fuse that could be blown or could it be the magnetron?
Asked by: Nolongercooking
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this microwave oven. The failure of a fuse would not account for the noise while cooking. It is difficult to determine the cause of such problems. The unit will likely require service. Is the keypad supposed to light on the LCRT2010ST Microwave?

Asked by: Mac7
Answered by: MichaelB33437
Date published: 2015-06-20

Can you put the electric requirements in simple terms?

I'm looking to replace an 1100 watt microwave that I've had for years. I was leaning towards the LCRT2010ST until I read some of the questions on the electrical outlet needed. My current microwave is plugged into a regular kitchen outlet, into which the base of my cordless phone is also plugged. I have never had any problem with the electrical supply. I'm not going to upgrade my electrical system for a microwave. Should I pass on this unit because it requires a stronger wiring system than I probably have?
Asked by: pandra
You can use this appliance with your current electrical system
